Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator is responsible to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, a critical function for the company's financial operations. The Payroll Administrator's responsibilities are vital in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance with regulations, and providing essential information to support effective decision-making within the organization.
What you will be responsible for:
Payroll Processing:
- Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
- Calculate wages, deductions, and enter data into computer systems.
- Review various records to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
Data Management:
- Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from various records.
- Enter employee information into the payroll system for new hires.
- Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, maintaining designated records.
- Record employee information such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations for payroll updates.
- Issue and record pay adjustments for errors or retroactive increases.
- Track employee leave time, including vacation, personal, and sick leave.
Employee Support:
- Provide information to employees and managers regarding payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective agreement provisions.
- Assist with HRIS implementation, including testing and other assigned duties.

What we need from you:
- Experience with the UKG/ADP platform preferred.
- Previous payroll experience.
- Understanding of BC Employment Standards, tax regulations, and related legislation.
- Basic accounting knowledge.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) credential or working towards PCP designation is preferred.
- Familiarity with ADP is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
