Vendor Management & Issue Resolution

  • Manage vendor onboarding and account maintenance, including compliance verification and required documentation.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for vendors, building strong working relationships and resolving payment and account inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Construction Accounting, Preconstruction, Estimating, and other internal teams to keep accounts payable activities moving efficiently.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to support timely approvals, resolve issues, and ensure AP processes run smoothly.

Process Improvement & Team Support

  • Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes, strengthen controls, and improve overall efficiency and service delivery.
  • Share your expertise by providing procedural guidance and support to team members and assisting with onboarding and training when needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive accounts payable or accounting experience, with hands-on responsibility for full-cycle AP.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, vendor management, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated experience investigating and resolving complex invoice, payment, and vendor account discrepancies.
  • Experience supporting multiple entities, cost centres, or projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems, with Yardi experience considered an asset.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, particularly for reconciliation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence working across different teams and with external vendors.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A high level of accuracy, accountability, discretion, and attention to detail.

Experience in construction would be an asset.
