Resident offers a range of career growth opportunities supported by a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and a focus on internal development. Employee data provides additional perspective on growth within the organization. In 2025, Resident reported that approximately 15% of employees were promoted, reflecting ongoing investment in internal advancement and talent development.

Employees may have opportunities to grow through expanded responsibilities, cross-functional exposure, and internal mobility, depending on role, team, and business needs. Managers are encouraged to support development through regular feedback, goal setting, and alignment on career progression.

Resident continues to cultivate an environment where employees can build skills, take on new challenges, and progress in their careers over time.


 

Learning & Upskilling Opportunities

Resident invested heavily in learning and development starting in 2025, and the results show. In our 2025 employee engagement survey, 89% of employees said they have access to meaningful development opportunities, a 15-point increase from the prior year. Our UK team scored that question at 100%. Employees also reported a 5-point increase in seeing a path for career growth at the company, and a 4-point increase in feeling that Resident values their development.

The foundation of our L&D programming is Udemy Business, which we launched in January 2025. Nearly 90% of employees have active accounts, 94% of users have logged at least one hour of learning, and 90% have returned for multiple learning sessions. Employees have collectively logged over 4,000 hours of learning on the platform, averaging 15+ hours per person. In 2026, we expanded on this with Resident Learning Labs, a monthly program that pairs curated Udemy content with company-wide participation and recognition.

For people managers specifically, we run structured development programming year-round. In 2025, we partnered with an external facilitator to deliver a six-session Emotional Intelligence series for all managers. In 2026, we're running a six-session DiSC Leadership Series focused on communication, conflict navigation, and team dynamics. Both programs are live, facilitator-led, and designed around the real challenges managers face in a fully remote environment.

We also run a monthly executive speaker series where senior leaders sit down for live interviews about their career journeys, leadership philosophies, and lessons learned. We've hosted 10 sessions since mid-2025 with strong attendance across the company.


 

Mentorship & Coaching

Resident takes a targeted approach to coaching and development. We have made external coaching available to select senior leaders and high-impact individual contributors where they focus on leadership growth, strategic thinking and role-specific challenges.

In 2025, we launched Individual Development Plans across the company. The program pairs employees with their managers to identify growth areas, set development goals and track progress over time. We started with a 16-person pilot cohort and have since expanded to over 30 participants across two cohorts spanning multiple departments and regions. Seven of the 16 original cohort members have since been promoted.

Managers also receive direct development support through our annual workshop programming and facilitator-led leadership series, equipping them to have better coaching conversations with their own teams.

Mentorship & Coaching

One thing that sets Resident apart is how seriously the company takes AI as a growth skill. Since September 2025, we've given out a monthly AI Innovator Award, which comes with a financial reward, recognizing employees who find creative ways to use AI in their day-to-day work. Multiple employees across different departments have been recognized. We're also building out a company-wide AI learning series with executive sponsorship, focused on helping every employee understand and apply AI tools.

Resident is a fully remote company, and we've built our L&D programming around that reality. Everything from our leadership development series to our speaker events to our learning platform runs virtually, which means every employee has equal access regardless of location. We operate across the US, UK, and Israel, and our programs are designed to reach all three regions.

Development here is not one-size-fits-all. An individual contributor in their first year has access to Udemy, Learning Labs, and the IDP program. A people manager gets facilitator-led leadership workshops, DiSC assessments, and development tools built for the conversations they navigate every day. A senior leader gets external coaching and executive-level programming. The goal is to meet people where they are and give them something that actually moves the needle.
