We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Technical Specialist 2, Infrastructure to join our IT team in Langley, BC.  

Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure, you will be responsible for providing advanced infrastructure expertise in the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology services. As a senior technical resource, you will diagnose complex problems, drive issues to resolution, contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives, and help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of critical business systems.
You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the resolution of complex infrastructure issues and escalations while following established escalation procedures.

  • Designing and implementing system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure enhancements.

  • Optimizing the performance, reliability, and availability of infrastructure systems and services.

  • Leading small to medium-sized infrastructure projects, including planning, coordination, and execution.

  • Developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

  • Providing mentorship and technical guidance to team members, supporting their development and promoting continuous learning through knowledge sharing.

  • Collaborating with architecture and security teams to ensure compliance, security, and adherence to infrastructure best practices.

  • Participating in on-call rotations and leading incident response, troubleshooting, and service restoration efforts.

You have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) or equivalent related experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure roles, including experience leading projects and technical initiatives.

  • Advanced proficiency in two or more infrastructure domains, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Linux operating systems, virtualization, and enterprise storage and backup solutions.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.

  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, and Intermapper.

  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and firewall technologies.

  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management principles.

  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.

  • Relevant infrastructure certifications, such as Microsoft, VMware, Hyper-V, or Red Hat/Linux certifications, are considered an asset.

Compensation Details:

$96,443.00 - $120,554.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience and other factors.
