You will provide proactive training and real-time support to functional partners in cross-functional teams, and you will onboard individuals and teams to the work. You will create new tools and processes, making existing ones more efficient, providing support across the sustainability team on important topics.

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Our Sustainability team is part of the broader Business Enablement organization. We collaborate across departments and with partners at Arc'teryx and Amer Sports to deliver meaningful progress towards our priority KPIs.

If you were the Sustainability Coordinator now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing today:

  • Facilitating learning and engagement with cross-functional teams by onboarding them to the Circular Product Program, supporting cross-functional workshops at stage gates (e.g. Seasonal Circular Product Workshop, Showcase) and providing hands-on training

  • Supporting the creation of our end-of-life strategy and target setting and tracking

  • Mapping and tracking excess raw materials

  • Supporting the creation of tools, guidance, processes and SOPs to enable teams

  • Creating documentation to provide auditable information and to advance progress towards commitments

  • Conducting industry benchmarking and ad-hoc research

  • Revising and updating processes to increase efficiency and integrate learnings

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Conduct industry research to support the development of sustainability guidance on emergent topics

  • Contribute to the development of criteria and policies for our three sustainability pillars – Climate, Circular and Worker Well-being

  • Support the automation of CBAs through Centric or other technologies

  • Help integrate circularity data into decision making

Are you our next Sustainability Coordinator?

  • You have an undergraduate and/or graduate degree related to sustainability, circularity and/or design, or other relevant topics or equivalent experience

  • You have a 1-2 years of experience in a Sustainability-related role

  • You have previous experience within Sustainability, ideally in the apparel industry

  • You have an interest in fashion design and the product creation process

  • You bring attention to detail and think critically

  • You have experience analysing quantitative data in Microsoft Excel and building your own Excel sheets and PowerPoint presentations

  • You have strong organisational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks and tight deadlines

  • You have a collaborative approach and can foster strong working relationships

  • You think outside of the box, have a track record as a creative problem solver and apply design thinking in your work

  • You are highly collaborative with demonstrated effectiveness at building strong partnerships inside and outside your core team

  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions

  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

  • You are positive, optimistic and approach things with a good sense of humour

  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
