About the Role

The Strategy Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the strategic direction of eBay’s Global Communications organization. This role partners closely with the Director Global Communications Business Ops and Strategy to define priorities, establish operating rhythms, and ensure the team’s work is tightly aligned with eBay’s enterprise strategy and business goals.

We’re looking for a strategic thinker, trusted advisor, and strong operator — someone who can connect the dots across business, culture, and communication to help our team plan smarter, execute with clarity, and measure impact.

What You'll Accomplish:

  • Strategic Planning: Lead annual and quarterly planning processes for Global Comms; translate enterprise priorities into actionable team goals, success measures, and workstreams.

  • Organizational Strategy: Partner with Comms LT to define and evolve the operating model and capabilities needed to deliver on our mission.

  • Business Alignment: Work closely with the comms LT and functional partners to ensure communications priorities and resources are aligned with company strategy.

  • Executive Engagement: Support the Director Global Comms and leadership team in developing materials for eLT discussions, strategic offsites, and enterprise communications forums.

  • Performance & Measurement: Define KPIs and dashboards to track progress against strategic goals and team effectiveness.

  • Narrative & Clarity: Help articulate the “why” behind our strategies — turning complexity into clear, compelling storytelling for internal audiences.

  • Special Projects: Lead or support enterprise-level initiatives such as org design, leadership communications planning, or cross-functional collaboration efforts.

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in strategy, communications, or business operations — ideally within a large, matrixed global organization.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills — able to simplify complexity, identify patterns, and connect dots across functions.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to craft clear, persuasive narratives for executive audiences.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive alignment among senior stakeholders.

  • Experience in consulting, comms strategy, or business planning is critical.

  • A bias for clarity, structure, and impact — and a collaborative, low-ego approach to work.
