About Us

At Davidson & Company, our people are our greatest strength. From our humble beginnings in 1984, our entrepreneurial spirit has grown our firm to nearly 200 professionals, making us one of the largest independent CPA firms in British Columbia and the leading public auditor in Canada.

Based in the heart of downtown Vancouver, we provide tax, audit, and advisory services to a diverse global client base. While we have a stronghold in the mining and exploration sector, we also work with clients in emerging industries such as cryptocurrency and cannabis. Unlike larger, more rigid accounting firms, Davidson offers the opportunity to explore multiple facets of the profession and shape your career in a way that’s meaningful to you.

From day one, you’ll work alongside experienced industry leaders who are invested in your growth—while making a real impact for our clients and our firm.

About the Role

Davidson & Company is searching for a Senior Accountant to join our Tax + Private Enterprise practice. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality compilations, reviews, compliance and tax planning services while working closely with managers, and partners as you build upon your accounting and tax career.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days look exactly the same—but here’s a snapshot of what you’ll get your hands into:

  • Prepare compilations and reviews ensuring accuracy and compliance for privately held companies in a wide variety of industries.
  • Prepare corporate tax returns
  • Manage closing processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Helping team members and provide guidance to junior staff on related tasks.
  • Develop engagement work plans, including budgets and schedules.  Monitor project status against the work plan and communicate schedule adjustments to the Engagement Manager or Partner.
  • Develop a professional relationship with the client.  Gain the respect and confidence of the client by consistently demonstrating supreme customer service, quality work products, and professional integrity.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

You’re more than your credentials—you’re collaborative, detail-oriented, and ready to grow. Ideally, you bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, plus a CPA designation (or CFE completion with active progress toward designation)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in public accounting
  • Knowledge of ASPE, CAS, and Canadian legislation
  • Proficient in financial analysis and interpreting complex financial statements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with Caseware
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines

What’s in It for You?

At Davidson, we believe great work deserves great rewards. Our total rewards package is designed to support your well-being, professional growth, and lifestyle—along with a few fun extras.

Here’s a snapshot of what you can expect:

  • Comprehensive health coverage starting day one, including extended benefits, Telus Health EAP, and Maple Virtual Care
  • $1,000 per year toward mental health support
  • Three weeks of vacation to start
  • Hybrid work flexibility, with a mix of work-from-home and in-office collaboration (minimum three days per week in-office)
  • $250 monthly commuting and connectivity allowance, plus a $40 monthly wellness credit
  • Global client exposure, offering opportunities to work across borders and time zones
  • A fun, inclusive culture supported by a social and culture committee that hosts team events, themed days, and spontaneous activities
