As a Sales Engineer, you will be a key member of the Network Infrastructure (NI) sales organization, working closely with Account Executives to support the sales process and drive technical strategy. Your role is crucial in translating customer requirements into optimal solutions, utilizing your deep understanding of network technologies and Nokia's product portfolio. You will act as a trusted advisor, building strong relationships with customers and ensuring Nokia's position as a leading provider of network solutions.
Responsibilities- Lead technical customer engagements and serve as the primary interface for pre-sales activities.
- Translate customer needs into network designs and solutions, utilizing Nokia's products and services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, becoming a trusted advisor and thought leader.
- Create tailored presentations and demos, showcasing Nokia's network vision and portfolio.
- Take a leadership role in engineering efforts, designing and executing network plans in customer labs.
- Collaborate with development teams to create the best-fit offerings, ensuring an optimal solution mix.
- Make technical presentations to customers, highlighting Nokia's value proposition during sales phases.
- Contribute to and define the technical strategy for designated customers, adapting to their needs.
- Utilize excellent interpersonal skills to build rewarding customer relationships and reach technical closure on deals.
- 5+ years of experience in a telecom carrier, equipment vendor, system integrator, or large enterprise with relevant technologies (XGS-PON, IP/MPLS, etc.).
- Exemplary customer communication skills, with the ability to facilitate technical discussions and architecture reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in a customer-facing role (pre-sales, consulting, delivery) is an asset.
- Knowledge of cloud computing, SDN, and CNF technologies for network agility and efficiency is preferred.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, OpenStack, NFV, and DevOps tools is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of IP routing and OSS protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP, etc.) is essential.
- Familiarity with Nokia's Fixed Network, IP, and Optical portfolio is desirable.
- Experience in designing and operating Data Center Fabric Networks is a plus.
- Deep understanding of underlay and overlay networking concepts, especially BGP and EVPN/VXLAN.
