Job summary

This role is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and commercializing product solutions that address current and emerging market needs.

You develop solutions for any line of business (LOB) in the Delta Electronics’ Building Automation Buildings Group (BABG). With a focus on product synergy across the LOBs and Delta Electronics at large, you will develop solutions that deliver scalable, market-ready offerings aligned with customer needs and company strategy.

You identify solution opportunities through market analysis, customer engagement, available technologies and strategic input, translating these insights into clear solution vision, scope, and requirements. You influence solution roadmaps, investment priorities, and portfolio alignment, ensuring solutions make effective and appropriate use of BABG and other Delta Electronics products.

This role requires a strong balance of business and technical understanding, with a focus on system-level thinking, workflow optimization, and commercial viability. You maintain alignment across engineering, sales, marketing, support, and executive teams to ensure solutions are positioned for successful market adoption.

Being primarily strategic and market-oriented, you are responsible for defining product solutions and enabling successful commercialization. The Product Manager owns the product vision, solution definition, prioritization, and commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with market needs and business objectives. While accountable for shaping the product roadmap and go-to-market approach, this role does not include responsibility for detailed engineering design, ongoing technical support, or day-to-day business operations. Instead, the Product Manager collaborates with and provides support and guidance to project managers and technical support to ensure successful execution of initiatives aligned with the product strategy.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Identify and prioritize product solution opportunities by working with internal and external stakeholders to uncover high-value applications, unmet customer needs and gaps in the Group’s product portfolio.
  • In partnership with the Director of Product Synergy, maintain and evolve a solution roadmap to guide investment, resourcing, and development scheduling.
  • Conduct market and competitive research to inform solution proposals, including analysis of comparable offerings from Delta Electronics groups, Equip, competitors, and adjacent technologies, with a focus on target applications and differentiation.
  • Define and communicate solution vision, scope, and requirements, producing clear written documentation that emphasizes market fit, customer workflow, and optimal integration within the Group’s ecosystem.
  • Prioritize the use of Delta Electronics’ products wherever appropriate.
  • Own stakeholder alignment for solution direction, ensuring internal and external stakeholders remain aligned on solution vision, scope, and intended value throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Application Engineering and technical teams to validate feasibility, guide prototyping and testing efforts, and ensure solution development remains aligned with defined requirements and intended outcomes.
  • Ensure solution readiness for commercialization by coordinating with Technical Writing, Technical Support, Sales, and Marketing to enable documentation, training, support materials, and go-to-market messaging.
  • Support solution launch and market adoption, including contributing to demos, presentations, and promotional materials for tradeshows, customer engagements, and webinars.
  • Provide post-release support from a product management perspective, including assisting with escalated issues, collecting feedback, and proposing iterative improvements.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Required skills and abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in the building automation industry, and depending on the role’s designated discipline, an in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, lighting controls, smart surveillance technologies, access or intrusion systems.
  • Ability to quickly understand and apply the capabilities and technologies delivered by each BABG Line of Business.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate product vision, requirements, and value propositions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking, including the ability to anticipate future market needs and evaluate the impact of product and solution decisions on existing platforms and portfolios.
  • Excellent writing skills.

Preferred skills and abilities

  • Solid technical aptitude, with the ability to engage credibly in technical discussions and assess feasibility without owning detailed design or troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with lighting and security systems is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including stakeholder alignment, influence without authority, and facilitation across diverse teams.
  • Clear understanding of the product lifecycle and go-to-market process, from opportunity identification through commercialization.
  • Creative problem-solving ability, particularly in translating customer needs and market gaps into differentiated solution concepts.

Minimum qualifications and experience

  • Technology diploma from an accredited educational institution in an appropriate field of study or equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • Ongoing and adequate field experience in a relevant industry.
