What We’re Looking For

The Lead Analyst works closely with a team of Analysts that provide financial analysis of carrier and client statements, assist in the day-to-day data administration as well as supporting and providing high-level analysis and detailed commentary over their work.

Our Burnaby Still Creek head office location is centrally located in the Willingdon Business Park near The Amazing Brentwood. This location is easily accessible by the Gilmore sky train station with many shops, restaurants and other amenities nearby.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze plan data in preparation for client meetings, including claims history updates, annual rate renewals, ASO reconciliations, financial analysis, and other ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Conduct plan market reviews, including production of Request-For-Proposal package, analysis of insurer quotations, and preparation of the report for the client.
  • Analyze client data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Managing of client information on internal databases and client management system including policy details, renewal dates, reporting requirements, broker details, commission details, documentation etc. 
  • Utilize partner software to generate Benchmarking Reports.
  • Communicate regularly with insurance carriers.
  • Manage monthly workflow and deliverables with various brokers, liaise with key project stakeholders to ensure adherence to specific timelines.
  • Develop client communication materials and other documents as required in coordination with HUB Communication & Design team.
  • Feedback and assist in continuous improvement on HART renewal tool.
  • Manage Adhoc project and custom reporting requests.
  • Facilitate training for new analysts on the various tools/enroll team members for additional training courses.
  • Provide Management with quarterly updates on output of team
  • Other projects and responsibilities as required by brokers and account managers.

Skills, Characteristics & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and a strong math aptitude.
  • Solid working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • A high level of initiative and independence and being able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Superior interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail.
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management software would be an asset. 
  • A proven ability to work in a team environment with a flexible attitude.
  • Experience in the Employee Benefits or group insurance industry is considered an asset but is not required.
  • Experience with Group Retirement programs is considered an asset but is not required.
  • Willingness to obtain or actively working towards CEBS designation is an asset but is not required.
  • Some understanding of Labour Standards and Human Rights legislation, particularly as they relate to employee benefits programs is an asset but is not required.

The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
