Infrastructure and Cloud Specialist (11-month contract) - Internal Only

OPPORTUNITY:

HEABC has an opportunity for an 11-month contract for an Infrastructure and Cloud Specialist (the Specialist). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology and Support, the Specialist provides operational support across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments, including VMware, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, backup and recovery, monitoring, networking, and security infrastructure. Working closely with internal IT staff and external vendors, the Specialist will maintain day-to-day operations, troubleshoot complex technical issues, implement approved infrastructure changes, and contribute to continuous service improvement.
 
The Specialist works across servers, virtualization, networking, cloud technologies, backup platforms, and hybrid Microsoft environments.

Responsibilities Include:

• Administer and support Windows and Linux servers across on-premises, VMware and Microsoft Azure environments.
• Support Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services and hybrid identity.
• Perform server provisioning, configuration, patching, maintenance, upgrades and decommissioning.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity and lifecycle risks.
• Administer Azure subscriptions, resource groups, access controls and core platform services.
• Support HEABC’s Azure Landing Zone, governance standards, policies, tagging and resource organization.
• Participate in cloud adoption, infrastructure migration and modernization initiatives.
• Work with the IT Security team to address vulnerabilities and configuration risks.

Required Education, Experience and Skills 

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a BSc in Computer Science or Information Systems and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.

• Demonstrated experience in several of the following areas:
• Microsoft Azure and hybrid-cloud environments.
• Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy and DNS.
• VMware vSphere and ESXi.
• Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Intune.
• Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.
• Enterprise networking, firewalls, VPNs and DNS.
• Palo Alto and F5 BIG-IP technologies.
• Enterprise backup and recovery platforms, preferably Commvault.
• Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
• Infrastructure monitoring and alerting.
• Automation or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Cloud migration or infrastructure-modernization initiatives.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, VMware, networking, and backup are considered an asset.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work across infrastructure, networking and cloud technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with internal teams, external organizations and vendors.

Salary Range: $76,111 to $99,895

Typical Hiring Range: $76,111 to $95,138

In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate’s skillset and experience as well as internal equity.  The final salary offer will be at HEABC’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
