THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to VP Operations, the HR Generalist will manage the full scope of day-to-day human resources operations, with a strong focus on recruitment and onboarding. This is a highly varied, hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process and onboarding of new team members
- Develop recruitment and retention strategies to maintain desired headcounts
- Serve as the first point of contact for managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, processes, and employment legislation
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and programs in accordance with BC employment standards, workers’ compensation, and OHS legislation
- Maintain employee documentation including discipline letters, performance reviews, and leaves of absence
- Coach employees and leaders on performance management, leadership, and collaboration
- Manage employee records and status changes in ADP Workforce Now, including time-off coordination and payroll support
- Perform a broad range of HR administrative duties including timesheet approvals, benefits administration, medical leave, and employment verification letters
- Administer the employee offboarding process for terminations
- Support leadership in building a culture of trust, openness, and accountability
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
- Proven full-cycle recruitment experience at all levels
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with all individuals with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
- Strong judgment, tact, and discretion with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Flexibility to engage with employees across morning, afternoon, and evening shifts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ADP Workforce Now experience is an asset
- Reliable personal transportation required (location is not served by public transit)
