6-Month Contract  |  Fraser Valley, BC  |  CA$60,000 - CA$70,000/year
Miles HR is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist to join a well-established, manufacturing company based in the Fraser Valley. This is a 6-month contract position covering a leave. The ideal candidate will bring broad HR generalist experience as the sole HR professional supporting a team of 100+ employees.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to VP Operations, the HR Generalist will manage the full scope of day-to-day human resources operations, with a strong focus on recruitment and onboarding. This is a highly varied, hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process and onboarding of new team members
  • Develop recruitment and retention strategies to maintain desired headcounts
  • Serve as the first point of contact for managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, processes, and employment legislation
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and programs in accordance with BC employment standards, workers’ compensation, and OHS legislation
  • Maintain employee documentation including discipline letters, performance reviews, and leaves of absence
  • Coach employees and leaders on performance management, leadership, and collaboration
  • Manage employee records and status changes in ADP Workforce Now, including time-off coordination and payroll support
  • Perform a broad range of HR administrative duties including timesheet approvals, benefits administration, medical leave, and employment verification letters
  • Administer the employee offboarding process for terminations
  • Support leadership in building a culture of trust, openness, and accountability
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Proven full-cycle recruitment experience at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with all individuals with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
  • Strong judgment, tact, and discretion with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Flexibility to engage with employees across morning, afternoon, and evening shifts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ADP Workforce Now experience is an asset
  • Reliable personal transportation required (location is not served by public transit)
