Job Description

The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization. 

The Health, Safety and Environment – HSE- Advisor is critical to supporting and managing health and safety within the organization. As a strategic member of the team, the HSE Advisor will guide managers and employees in making informed choices concerning health and safety in engineering projects.  This role will be primarily based out of our Vancouver office but requires up to 30% travelling between various locations (other offices in western Canada or work sites). 

This is a hybrid position, with a minimum of 2 days at the Vancouver office.

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Support business units for various safety related needs (project risk management, training needs, equipment need, expertise, client requests, etc.) 
  • Evaluate compliance of business units in assigned offices and participate in COR audit process. 
  • Develop work safe procedures, JSAs, guidelines and additionnal documentation based on the operational needs 
  • Manage safety related events (investigations, communication, corrective action plan, etc.) 
  • Assist in continuous improvement of the CIMA+ HSE management system, 
  • Develop internal training programs, and facilitate training sessions 
  • Promote the firm's HSE culture 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HSE or the equivalent   
  • 7+ years of experience in the area of HSE  
  • Experience on construction sites or industrial environment  
  • Have  a valid driver’s licence  
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation, best industry practices in Western Canada and COR requirements 
  • Strong communication ability (spoken and written) 
  • CRSP is an asset 

The expected salary for this position is from $80,000 to $100,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
