What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Consumer Card Products, this role will lead the strategy and day to day product management for CIBC’s Aventura Consumer Credit Card portfolio. The Director, Aventura will promote the growth of CIBC’s Aventura portfolio through product development and enhancements as well as work with key stakeholders and partners to grow and retain client relationships.

How you'll succeed

  • Strategic Planning - Develop multi-year strategic plans and business cases for Aventura Consumer Card Products. Provide guidance on business plans/initiatives/marketing programs, to drive sales effectiveness, operational efficiency and strategic congruence. Accountable for financial results of the Aventura Consumer Cards Portfolio management and ongoing analysis of trends and the competitive landscape. Provide input into product positioning and pricing strategy for products/services to ensure alignment of strategic objectives. Assess long-term viability of features and benefits, building opportunities to maintain or improve CIBC’s competitive position.

  • Product Management and Development - Manage and provide oversight for daily product management activities. Monitor market environment (consumer, technology, competition and government/regulatory agencies) to understand the impact on change as it relates to product/features.

  • People Management - Provide for the professional development of team members, provide motivation, coaching, training and development opportunities. Provide regular formal and informal feedback to ensure performance appraisals and the identification of development needs are fair, accurate and effectively communicated. Champion CIBC values and provide support in a manner consistent with the highest quality standards and CIBC objectives. Assist in promoting an environment that encourages collaboration, initiative, continuous improvement, learning and the generation of new ideas and solutions. As a manager of people, this job must ensure all employees within the business unit comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls.
