ABOUT US

Localcoin, founded in 2017 with headquarters in Toronto, is on a mission to simplify the process and experience of buying or selling digital currencies globally. We envision bringing digital currency to the mainstream financial market through partnerships with leading corporate and franchised retail spaces. With terminals across Canada and the APAC region, including Australia, Hong Kong, and New Zealand, Localcoin is now the fastest growing Bitcoin ATM operator in the world.

At its core, Localcoin believes that everyone should be able to own cryptocurrency and have a deep understanding of blockchain technology. As a member of our rapidly growing team, you'll join a talented, dynamic group of team members who will encourage you to learn, grow, and thrive in your career every step of the way.

If you're a self-starter looking to hone your skills in a startup environment that fosters innovation, transparency, and team connectivity, we look forward to hearing from you!

THE ROLE

At Localcoin, our Compliance team ensures we meet all regulatory obligations as a registered Money Service Business in Canada and the other countries where we operate — protecting our users, reducing risk, and supporting our mission.

As a Compliance Data Analyst, you’ll leverage data to monitor customer transactions, identify trends, and detect potential risks. You’ll support the Chief Compliance Officer by preparing reports for regulators, maintaining compliance datasets, and ensuring our Compliance Policies are backed by accurate, timely insights.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and auditors to deliver data-driven solutions that keep operations running smoothly and compliant with evolving regulations. Your ability to extract, analyze, and visualize complex data will help shape key compliance strategies across the business.

If you’re passionate about digital currency, skilled at working with data, and curious about the regulatory space, this role is a great fit for you.

This position will be based out of our office in Etobicoke, ON, and will have a hybrid work schedule of 2 days in office per week.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Reduce the Compliance Department’s reliance on the Product and Development teams by developing proficiency in the Compliance software tools we use, and acting as our go-to resource for first-line technical questions and requests.
  • Acting as a primary interface between the Compliance team and Product/Development teams, bridging the gap between Compliance requirements and complex technical work requests.
  • Work closely with product teams to define compliance-driven product specifications.
  • Build, run, and analyze SQL and other reports on compliance-related data.
  • Oversee and support compliance activities tied to global expansion initiatives, including launches in new jurisdictions.
  • Review transaction monitoring alerts and design new scenarios to detect money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance systems and processes are properly implemented and maintained.

NICE TO HAVES

  • Prior experience in a global or multinational organization.
  • Exposure to cryptocurrency compliance environments.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks (AML) and obligations beyond single functions like KYC or transaction monitoring.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in data analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, Python, Jira, API integrations, and ability to collaborate with product/engineering teams.
  • Communication: Fluent English (written and spoken) with strong analytical reporting skills, you will have the ability to analyze and not merely present raw data findings.

WHAT YOU’LL LOVE ABOUT US

  • Competitive Salary & Benefits – We value and reward our team members.
  • Hybrid Work Environment – Enjoy flexibility while being part of a dynamic team.
  • Professional Development – Opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Team Culture & Events – Regular socials, team meetings, and collaborative workspaces.
  • Impactful Work – Play a key role in a growing company and make a real difference.

Localcoin is committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. The more inclusive and diverse we are, the more our work will improve. If you're determined and great at what you do, come as you are.

If you require accommodation at any stage throughout the recruitment process, please notify your talent team or send an email to [email protected]

Please note: At this time, we are not seeking assistance from external recruiters or agencies
