About the Role

Davidson & Company is searching for an Associate with the desire to pursue CPA in the ACT (Assurance, Compilation, Tax) path, to join our Private Enterprise practice. You'll begin by building a strong foundation in private company assurance and year-end engagements, including tax compliance. As your experience grows, you'll take on increasingly complex work and develop the technical expertise needed to become a trusted advisor.


What You’ll Do


  • Develop skills and gain proficiency to complete compilations, reviews, bookkeeping and tax for privately held companies in a wide variety of industries. 
  • Develop and gain proficiency to complete tax returns and compute taxes for corporations, individuals, partnerships and trusts.
  • Develop and apply knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE), the Canadian Income Tax Act and related legislation
  • Work directly and build relationships with clients
  • Collaborate with an engagement team.
  • Utilize various tools and software throughout engagements
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the firm’s services, businesses and industry.
  • Develop valuable skills and training to support your CPA program.

What You’ll Bring to the Table


  • Completion of an undergraduate degree, including the prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP), upon commencement of employment.
  • The intention to pursue the CPA designation through the (ACT path).
  • Previous tax or accounting related office experience is considered an asset 
  • Customer service and/or client service experience is considered an asset
  • Experience working with Caseware is considered an asset.

We believe in transparency and fairness when it comes to compensation. For this role, the annual salary is $55,000 depending on your experience and what you bring to the table.
