UL Solutions Employee Perspectives

What aspect of your role gives you a real sense of meaning or purpose?

Being a people leader. It is important to not just focus on the numbers. Behind each number is a human being who has their own life and situations outside of work. Every one of us has strengths and weaknesses. I always try to focus on building the strengths of my team rather than trying to eliminate their weaknesses. The most important part of my job is to support my team and apply their strengths. I think approaching each employee as an individual is important.

What People Are Saying About UL Solutions

  • Strategic Vision & Planning: Investor materials lay out a three-part plan—organic growth, margin expansion via digitization/standardization, and disciplined M&A—alongside formal multi‑year outlooks that define priorities and measures. Communications consistently anchor this plan to regulation‑driven arenas such as AI, energy transition, and critical infrastructure.
  • Strong Execution: Portfolio actions and services launches align with the stated focus on core TIC and secular growth, including AI certification offerings, hydrogen components programs, lab expansions, and upgrades like the Fire Science Center. Operating plans are quantified and updated, reinforcing intent to deliver against growth and margin goals.
  • Adaptability & Agility: Leadership has realigned software, exited non‑strategic lines, and adjusted executive roles to increase speed and sharpen focus on TIC and profitability. These moves indicate readiness to tune the portfolio and operating model as markets evolve.
