Requirements

Bardel is currently looking for Junior and Mid level Systems Administrators to work collaboratively with our Emmy award winning studio team. Working closely with all Technology teams, this role is responsible for the successful development and maintenance of the company’s infrastructure, supporting Production in making technical decisions and general technical support throughout the organization.  
 
What you will be doing: 

  • Maintain Bardel’s Systems Administrations operation standards of installation, configuration, and administration of the tech infrastructure 
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to design and deploy highly redundant and secure systems. 
  • Administration and maintenance of physical, virtual and Cloud infrastructure. 
  • Monitor and optimize system performance and ensure production facing services are performing to the required standard.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and automation of repetitive tasks/procedures. Work with Desktop support team on ticket escalations and technical knowledge sharing. 
  • Assist in implementing new systems and keep project on time and on budget.
  • Provide input into potential improvements in efficiency, reliability and performance of the animation pipeline. 

 
What you bring with you: 

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar role 
  • Experience with automated deployment (Foreman, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform etc.) 
  • Configuration management experience, ideally with Puppet/Ansible 
  • Experience administering Microsoft Server (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP) 
  • Orchestration of containerized environments, i.e. Kubernetes, Docker 
  • Scripting knowledge, preferably bash / PowerShell 
  • Windows/Linux software deployment and OS imaging (Foreman, Chocolatey, Artifactory, etc) 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to deliver project deliverables on time and in scope 

 
Bonus Experience:  

  • Experience in the media and entertainment industry (VFX, television, animation or gaming) 
  • Experience with Networking and Security, i.e. Firewall Management, routing and switching 
  • Experience with Logging and Metrics Collection/Analysis 
  • Experience Managing and maintaining Automation tools, i.e. Jenkins, Github actions, etc. 
  • Experience working with Cloud Infrastructure, AWS/Azure, etc 
  • Knowledge of storage technologies (Qumulo, NetApp, Isilon, Cohesity and S3) 

Benefits

Pay Range: CAD $65,000 - $90,000 per year  

This salary range provided reflects our current expectations for these roles as of this posting’s date. Your final salary offer will consider various key factors, including your education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographical location, as well as the needs and requirements of the business.
