Job Description
We are seeking a Staff Test Automation Engineer to join our System Test team supporting Inform, our cloud-native Security-related incident management platform. You will own test automation design and implementation, maintain and extend automated test suites, and utilize AI tools to automate and enhance development and testing. You will work alongside the broader test team to ensure our products meet the quality standards our customers rely on for critical security operations. You will analyze requirements, design and implement test automation, integrate tests into CI/CD, execute and maintain test runs, and report results and quality status to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements and testability: Review specifications, functional requirements, and existing test documentation to assess testability, define automation scope, and identify quality risks.
Test automation design and implementation: Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites and performance tests for complex system behavior in a distributed Security-related environment. Implement tests using appropriate frameworks and tools and integrate them into continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
Execution and reporting: Run automated test cycles on a regular cadence, analyze outcomes, triage failures, and report defects and quality status clearly to development and project stakeholders.
Broad test coverage: Own or contribute to functional and nonfunctional testing, including system, integration, and end-to-end flows that involve hardware integrations such as cameras, doors, and access control systems.
Quality ownership: Act as a quality advocate in the development lifecycle, promoting testability, automation, and metrics so the system delivers a reliable, consistent, and professional experience.
Qualifications:
Minimum 8+ years of automation development experience focused on large software systems.
Minimum of 8 years of work experience in manual testing within system and functional test cycles.
Experience working with cloud-based software solutions.
Experience metric tracking and report generating
TestRail experience preferred
Experience with CI/CD methodologies and test automation to enable continuous integration.
A collaborative team member with creative and innovative approaches to problem-solving.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and in written, to collaborate with cross-functional teams from various locations.
Adhere to established processes and provide metrics to ensure high product quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and testing effectiveness
Familiarity with security, surveillance, or physical access control systems
Target Base Salary Range: $115,000 CAD - $135,000 CAD
