Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in full-cycle accounting, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP. This role supports bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end closing, financial reporting, and compliance, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, accruals, and support month-end close activities.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts in accordance with Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS).
  • Maintain and review general ledger entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support year-end audits and reviews, ensuring compliance with CRA and provincial tax requirements (GST/HST, PST etc.).
  • Work extensively with NetSuite ERP, including Posting transactions and maintaining modules (GL, AP, AR). Running and building customized financial reports. Supporting system improvements and best practice adoption.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accuracy of data flows into NetSuite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 2–3 years of progressive accounting experience in Canada.
  • Strong working knowledge of NetSuite ERP (1+ years hands-on experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas) and familiarity with other ERP/finance tools.
  • Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS) and CRA compliance (GST/HST, payroll, corporate tax basics).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
