Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams - People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more - provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.
The Role
As a Business Systems Engineer supporting our Hardware Teams, you will play a pivotal role in building product features on our Oracle Fusion Supply Chain platform. You'll work closely with hardware operations teams such as supply and demand planning and Factory Operations to shape the roadmap for hardware business systems. You'll immerse yourself in the problem space, define requirements, design solutions, and collaborate with partner tech teams to develop and deploy new features.
At Block, we believe employees should work where they feel most creative and productive. As part of a distributed team, you'll have the flexibility to adjust to typical working hours and contribute meaningfully from anywhere.
You Will
- Lead strategic initiatives as a subject matter expert in Oracle Cloud ERP, focusing on Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Manufacturing, and S&OP, while advising teams on solution architecture, best practices, and process optimization.
- Develop detailed functional and technical specifications to ensure seamless alignment on project requirements and operational needs.
- Execute the end-to-end implementation lifecycle of business-critical initiatives, from planning and configuration to deployment and post-go-live support.
- Monitor the performance of launched products/features, using metrics to iterate and refine them for continuous improvement.
- Identify and address key technical risks, developing effective mitigation strategies.
- Communicate critical developments, updates, and challenges to cross-functional teams, including business, operations, product, marketing, and technical groups.
You Have
- 10+ years of progressive experience in consulting, engineering or solutions architecture, working with Oracle E-Business Suite or Oracle Cloud Fusion Applications.
- 5+ years of experience in researching, designing, developing, and testing Oracle SaaS applications, with a strong focus on SCM Cloud modules such as Demand Management, Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Collaboration and Inventory Management.
- Knowledge of peripheral solutions like Order Management (OM), Global Order Promising (GOP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Procurement, and Accounts Payable (AP) and its dependencies with Planning Systems.
- Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP web services, including the ability to explore and review API documentation for both internal and third-party products, and develop proofs of concept (PoCs) and solutions.
- Ability to translate complex, end-to-end functional processes into clear technical stories.
- Expertise in developing comprehensive design documentation, including field-level mappings and contract specifications.
- Strong proficiency in writing SQL-based BI reports in Oracle and other BI systems, supporting reporting, analysis, and integration needs.
- Experience creating OTBI (Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence) reports to enable self-service data access, reducing the need for ad-hoc SQL queries.
- Ability to create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both functional and technical testing.
