Compensation Information: $32.35 per hour (plus additional depending on qualifications and experience)

Physical Requirement: Medium; work activities involve handling loads up to 20kg; both in an indoor and outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

This role is eligible for an incentive for successful applicants to receive $1 per hour worked based on completion of a full winter season contract. Conditions apply to this incentive and will be shared during the interview and onboarding.

Skills you bring with you:

  • Certification: Must hold a current Level 4 professional teaching certification alongside an active Course Conductor designation in good standing with a recognized national Snowsports organization (e.g., CSIA, CASI, or Sports School approved national equivalency).
  • Experience: Several seasons of demonstrated experience operating in a supervisory, coaching, or training capacity within a professional snow sport school.
  • Technical Proficiency: Highly computer literate with practical experience navigating Microsoft Office Suite and employee scheduling or tracking databases.
  • Legal & Compliance: Legally authorized to work in Canada for the 26/27 season contract. Must successfully pass an RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) as a bona fide occupational requirement for overseeing educational frameworks involving minors and staff development.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills with highly polished interpersonal, leadership, and motivational competencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, coordinate, and execute the Sports School's internal training calendar, technical clinics, and pedagogy sessions to elevate overall staff teaching standards.
  • Conduct specialized instructor training programs focused on national certification exam preparation and continuing education module delivery.
  • Plan, organize, and manage logistical setup for designated technical camps, specialized training blocks, and season-long educational programs.
  • Provide daily technical mentorship and clear educational pathways to support instructors in reaching their professional development milestones.
  • Perform on-the-job performance management by conducting live, on-snow lesson audits to deliver structured technical, safety, and customer service feedback.
  • Work in coordination with the supervisory team to identify pedagogical deficiencies and implement supportive coaching structures for instructional staff.
  • Monitor staff compliance with official resort Skill Level Selectors, ensuring all lesson progressions meet resort standards for safety, guest matching, and technical progression.
  • Deliver high-level ski or snowboard instruction across the full spectrum of resort offerings, including advanced group clinics, elite private requests, and specialized multi-day programs.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by modeling resort service goals and executing professional service-recovery tactics to resolve escalated guest feedback or program concerns.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, demonstrating technical excellence on the mountain to project an athletic, competent, and professional image for the resort.
  • Enforce absolute compliance with the Alpine Responsibility Code and resort risk management protocols across all training clinics and guest programs.
  • Promptly investigate, document, and report all workplace safety incidents, near-misses, or equipment issues during training sessions via established resort reporting databases.
