About the Role:
As a Senior Program Manager – Engineering, you will play a critical role in shaping and driving the strategy and execution of large, cross-functional programs for Remitly Business, which is a new ecosystem within Remitly for business-to-business payments.
In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager and serve as the lead TPM for a 30-person organization across Seattle, Vancouver, and Bangalore. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of "0-1" product launches, including new recipient experiences and deep technical integrations with global accounting and financial platforms. This is a hybrid role based in our Burnaby, BC office.
Manage Global Delivery: Direct the execution of the 2026 Business Engineering roadmap across three sites, ensuring sending products (Vancouver) and receiving products (Bangalore) are synchronized.
Integrate UX into the Lifecycle: Partner with UX Designers to ensure design specifications are technically feasible and integrated into the engineering delivery cycle early enough to avoid downstream rework.
Drive Quality & Testing Strategy: Define the end-to-end testing requirements for product launches, ensuring that automated testing, manual QA, and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) are baked into the project timeline.
Operationalize Strategy: Partner with the Senior Engineering Manager to translate executive OKRs into specific technical milestones, including clear definitions of "Done" for high-quality delivery.
Coordinate Technical Dependencies: Work with Architects and platform teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks where our products rely on Remitly’s core ledger and payment systems.
Drive Ecosystem Integrations: Manage the delivery of complex technical integrations with external partners (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, and global banking APIs).
Standardize Engineering Processes: Define and implement the operational frameworks for the organization, including continuous delivery cadences, cross-site communication, and architectural review cycles.
Report on Program Health: Provide data-driven visibility into progress, resource allocation, and risks to both engineering leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
An Experienced TPM: You have 7+ years of professional experience managing complex software programs and technology roadmaps in a high-growth environment.
Product & Design Minded: You understand the product development lifecycle and know how to bridge the gap between UX design requirements and engineering constraints.
Quality Focused: You have experience establishing quality gates and testing frameworks to ensure that "0-1" products are stable and performant before reaching customers.
Technically Proficient: You understand microservices and AWS infrastructure. You can participate in architectural discussions and understand the trade-offs of technical debt versus speed of delivery.
Expert in Ambiguity: You have a track record of taking broad product goals and turning them into actionable engineering plans without relying on rigid, pre-existing templates.
A Cross-Functional Influencer: You can build alignment across different teams and offices to ensure the Business organization has the platform support required to meet its goals.
A Clear Communicator: You can synthesize complex technical status into concise updates for leadership and can facilitate "path to green" discussions when projects face delays.
