Join IC3 Security Engineering as we build scalable systems that help protect cloud services and automate security risk remediation. Our team is developing centralized security capabilities that enable service owners to identify, understand, and address security risks efficiently, using AI and automation to improve security operations at scale.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the IC3 AEGIS team, you will design and build an AI-driven platform supporting centralized security automation and risk remediation. You will develop intelligent services that evaluate security requirements and service posture and help automate remediation across IC3. You will work on large-scale cloud and security systems while applying AI and automation to real-world security engineering challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Design and develop services and platform capabilities that support security automation and risk remediation at scale.
  • Identify technical dependencies and contribute to the architecture and design of products, services, and platform capabilities.
  • Write, test, debug, optimize, and maintain high-quality production code with a focus on performance, maintainability, reliability, and security.
  • Partner with engineering, security, and product teams to plan and deliver features and service improvements.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), helping monitor services, investigate service degradation or interruptions, and restore service when needed.
  • Improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, security, and performance of production services through engineering best practices.
  • Explore and apply emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development and automation, to improve security engineering and operational workflows.
  • Embody our culture and values.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in these or similar languages OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing production software using one or more programming languages such as C#, Python, Go, Java, C++, or similar languages.
  • Experience designing, developing, or operating distributed systems, microservices, or large-scale cloud services using Azure, AWS, GCP, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, or cloud service security.
  • Experience developing or integrating AI, machine learning, agentic, or automation technologies to improve engineering, security, or operational workflows.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, or similar approaches for deploying and operating cloud services.
  • Experience improving the reliability, availability, observability, performance, or operational excellence of production services.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering, security, product, or other cross-functional teams to deliver complex technical solutions.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $114,400 - CAD $203,900 per year.
