The ideal candidate will have a robust background in APIs and software development, including expertise in debugging, code review, and testing. You'll play a pivotal role in tackling complex challenges, designing, and developing innovative solutions, and leading projects from conception to delivery. Your contributions will not only involve working closely with technical leaders and various teams to exceed client expectations but also providing mentorship to enhance the team's technical skills and foster a culture of high performance.

What you’ll do:
- Focus on crafting production-level code that is clean, modular, and thoroughly documented, while strictly adhering to coding standards and best practices
- Engage in collaborative efforts to define and document requirements, ensuring clarity, task breakdown, and accurate time estimates and demo the work being done in the team to stakeholders
- Engage in research and the creation of proofs of concept to support reliable implementation plans and foster team confidence
- Take a leadership role in agile sprint refinement and planning sessions, guiding development strategies and promoting an efficient software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Actively participate in code reviews to elevate code quality and maintain consistency across projects. Work on optimizing and refactoring existing systems and legacy code to boost performance and scalability
- Develop and maintain models for data, software, and network architecture that meet organizational standards and promote effective information exchange
- Ensure the highest quality of software through meticulous manual and automated testing and debugging, aligning with our standards for completion
- Lead in identifying and analyzing the root causes of issues during testing phases and incident management. Innovate in testing by designing and implementing comprehensive test cases, including automating integration tests within the CI/CD pipeline to enhance early detection (embodying a shift-left approach)
- Oversee the CI/CD pipeline management for swift and secure code deployment
- Regularly monitor the performance, security, and user experience of all applications under your team's purview, identifying, addressing areas for improvement with a focus on continuous enhancement and have a willingness to own and operate what you build
What you’ll bring:
We are seeking experienced software engineers with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in building scalable, secure, and resilient systems in a modern cloud-native environment. Candidates should demonstrate strong engineering fundamentals, a commitment to high-quality software delivery, experience with developing APIs and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Key Competencies:
- Strong development background in Java (SpringBoot/Spring), with additional experience in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python and proficiency in Docker and Git.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
- Skilled in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs, including authoring and interpreting OpenAPI specifications.
- Proficient in writing and maintaining shell scripts(e.g., bash) for build and automation tasks.
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Solid knowledge of AWS services such as ECS, VPC, IAM, API Gateway, Secrets Manager etc
Comfortable working in Unix-based systems such as macOS or Linux. - Proficiency with PostgreSQL or MySQL for relational data storage.
- Strong automated testing practices such as unit, integration, end-to-end testing etc with experience using tools like JUnit, Testcontainers.
- Experience defining and developing for non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as availability, performance, security, and observability.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including components like CloudRun, Apigee,networking etc
- Experience with CockroachDB or other distributed SQL databases and NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB
- Familiarity with Event-Driven Architecture and message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS or AmazonMQ.
- Experience developing tooling like libraries or SDKs to empower your colleagues.
- Understanding of OAuth2 and related authentication & authorization standards.
Experience integrating with observability tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Opensearch, or Grafana. - Experience incorporating AI tooling to enhance development efficiency.
- Proficiency with IDEs such as IntelliJ and VS Code.
- Relevant certifications in Cloud platforms, DevOps or Platform engineering.
