What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Site Engineer, you will play a critical leadership role in managing and overseeing the deployment and commissioning of ChargePoint solutions. This role involves leading project teams, making high-level technical decisions, and resolving complex issues related to EV charging infrastructure. While occasional site visits may be required for high-visibility projects, the primary focus is on strategic project oversight and team coordination, with approximately 40% travel expected.
In this senior-level position, you will serve as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless project execution from purchase order to final handover. You will also take on greater decision-making authority, drive process improvements, and provide technical expertise in troubleshooting advanced system challenges. Additionally, mentoring junior engineers and supporting the development of best practices will be a crucial aspect of this role.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
  • Lead and manage project teams to ensure the timely, high-quality installation and commissioning of ChargePoint solutions
  • Act as the primary decision-maker for project execution, including resolving escalations and optimizing project workflows
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from purchase order handoff to project completion and customer sign-off
  • Address complex logistical challenges, advanced technical issues, and escalations to ensure successful project delivery
  • Ensure all installations meet ChargePoint’s compliance, quality, and performance standards
  • Provide high-level technical guidance, including troubleshooting and resolving complex system failures
  • Offer on-site support for critical and high-visibility projects while primarily managing processes remotely
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices
  • Mentor and train junior engineers, providing technical leadership and support
  • Draft and submit detailed technical reports, ensuring all project documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Perform field commissioning, scheduled and preventative maintenance, remediation, and warranty services on new and legacy Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE)
  • Deliver training sessions on service-related procedures for technicians and peers
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, site engineering, or field engineering, with a strong understanding of DC systems, EV charging systems, or related technologies
  • Proven experience in leading project teams, making strategic decisions, and resolving complex technical issues
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to manage project teams and interact with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting and resolving complex electrical and system issues
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems, commissioning, and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Ability to travel up to 40% as needed
  • Bilingual (French/English)

This is a hybrid coordination and leadership role, with most work conducted remotely from a computer. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and customers to ensure efficient project completion while maintaining ChargePoint’s quality standards. The role also involves providing on-site commissioning and troubleshooting support for critical accounts and high-profile projects.
