Your role

Join our team as a Senior Project Manager in Toronto!

This opportunity is well suited for someone with proven experience leading complex municipal and private development and transit infrastructure projects.  The ideal candidate will have successfully delivered projects across a range of sizes and complexities, including light rail, heavy rail, utilities, streetscapes, land development, and other critical infrastructure works. In this role, you will act as a strategic trusted advisor to clients, with a strong focus on account management, relationship building, and understanding their evolving needs. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, strengthen and grow client relationships, and help shape solutions that create lasting value for clients and communities, while continuing to expand your leadership influence, business acumen, and project delivery expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate company values and cultural behaviors
  • Consult directly with clients and stakeholders to successfully lead complex capital projects, with a focus on municipal and transit infrastructure projects
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their priorities, challenges and evolving needs while representing their best interests throughout project delivery
  • Build, manage and strengthen long-term client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts and deliver additional value
  • Lead the development of project plans by defining client objectives and success criteria, schedule and budget development, procurement management, risk planning and communication/stakeholder management
  • Lead major procurement efforts and contract negotiations for architects, engineers, contractors and third-party consultants
  • Lead and mentor multiple project delivery teams through project management activities including procurement, risk, cost, schedule, scope and stakeholder management
  • Oversee project delivery team performance, while escalating delivery issues as required
  • Provide financial frameworks, forecasts, cost tracking and regular financial reporting
  • Be accountable for quality deliverables, successful project outcomes and client satisfaction
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 8 years’ capital project management experience, with a minimum of 5 years leading large-scale municipal and transit infrastructure project mandates varying in scope and complexity
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing client relationships, with the ability to understand client needs, establish trust and support the growth of key accounts
  • A university degree or college diploma in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture or construction management, or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience
  • Familiarity with the design process, value engineering, and approvals necessary to proceed with construction in a municipal setting
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, as well as applicable building codes, contract types and relevant legislation
  • Professional industry credentials such as OALA, PMP, P.Eng., CET, Registered Architect or another similar industry-recognized designation are considered a strong asset
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project and technical issues
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
