We are seeking a Senior Manager, Finance Advisory Services to take full ownership of complex, high-stakes client engagements — from ERP transitions and post-acquisition integrations to finance team restructurings and audit readiness programs. This is a senior individual contributor and team leadership role: you will serve as the primary client relationship owner, manage billable staff, and drive project delivery with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate brings deep finance expertise alongside structured project management discipline, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing consulting environment.
Types of Engagements
You will lead and manage across a diverse portfolio of client engagements, including:
• ERP Implementations & Transitions — Leading end-to-end ERP implementations and system migrations, managing workstreams across finance, IT, and operations while keeping clients informed and timelines on track.
• Amalgamations & Acquisitions — Supporting post-merger integrations and entity amalgamations, including transitioning incumbent finance teams, harmonizing processes, and ensuring continuity through the changeover period.
• Payroll Transitions — Managing migrations between payroll platforms or providers, coordinating between HR, finance, and vendor teams to ensure accurate, uninterrupted pay runs throughout the transition.
• Finance Reorganizations — Assessing existing finance team structures, identifying capability gaps and inefficiencies, and delivering actionable recommendations for organizational redesign and right-sizing.
• Audit Readiness & Finance Clean-Up — Remediating disorganized or non-compliant finance functions to prepare organizations for audit, including reconciliations, process documentation, and internal controls clean-up.
What You'll Do
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
• Serve as the senior point of contact for a portfolio of clients, managing expectations and communications independently
• Build trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders at the CFO, VP, and Director level
• Lead client meetings, status updates, and executive presentations with confidence and clarity
• Proactively identify risks and opportunities within engagements and communicate them effectively
Project & Delivery Management
• Own end-to-end project timelines, workplans, and milestone tracking across concurrent engagements
• Manage and coordinate billable staff to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
• Develop and maintain project status reports, dashboards, and deliverable trackers
• Drive accountability across cross-functional teams, removing blockers and keeping work moving
Finance Operations & Engagement Delivery
• Lead ERP implementations and system transitions end-to-end — defining scope, coordinating cross-functional workstreams, managing data migration and cutover planning, and ensuring finance teams are trained and operational on the new platform
• Manage post-merger and amalgamation engagements, including assessing and transitioning incumbent finance teams, harmonizing charts of accounts, policies, and reporting structures, and maintaining continuity through the integration period
• Oversee payroll transitions from scoping through go-live — coordinating between HR, finance, and payroll vendors, validating data integrity, and ensuring uninterrupted pay runs throughout the changeover
• Conduct finance team assessments — evaluating current organizational structure, roles, and capabilities, and delivering clear recommendations for right-sizing, redesign, or process improvement
• Lead audit readiness and finance clean-up engagements — remediating reconciliations, documenting processes, establishing internal controls, and bringing disorganized finance functions up to an auditable standard
• Review and QA all work produced by junior and intermediate staff before client delivery, maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism across all engagement outputs
Team Resourcing, Management & Coaching
• Assess engagement requirements and resource files appropriately — matching the right staff level (junior, intermediate, senior) to each workstream based on complexity, budget, and client needs
• Monitor team capacity and utilization across active engagements, proactively flagging resourcing gaps or conflicts
• Provide direct coaching and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff, actively supporting their professional development and growth toward more senior responsibilities
• Conduct regular check-ins, provide timely feedback, and ensure staff have clear direction and the support they need to deliver quality work
• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing, helping build team capability and a culture of continuous improvement
Automation & AI
• Actively leverage AI tools to improve the efficiency and quality of deliverables — from financial analysis and reporting to project documentation and client communications
• Identify and implement process automation opportunities within client finance functions, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy and scalability
• Help spearhead Treewalk’s internal systems and process improvement initiatives, bringing an AI-first mindset to how we work

• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: ERP implementations, M&A integrations or amalgamations, payroll transitions, finance team restructurings, or audit readiness engagements
• Prior experience at a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) or equivalent management consulting environment considered a strong asset
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects end-to-end: planning, resourcing, execution, and client reporting
• Proven track record managing and developing junior staff in a billable environment
• Exceptional communication skills — written and verbal — with executive-level presence
• High degree of autonomy; comfortable owning client relationships with minimal escalation

Preferred Qualifications
• CPA, CFA, or equivalent
• Industry experience in technology companies or financial services considered a strong asset; experience across multiple sectors is a plus
• Familiarity with billable hour environments and utilization-based performance metrics
• An AI-first mindset — you actively use AI tools in your day-to-day work and are excited to help drive their adoption across engagements and internal workflows
Benefits
Treewalk For a Reason
• We will cover your CPA annual dues, professional development courses, and continuing education — with no clawback policy. If you decide to leave, we will never ask for that money back.
• This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC. No significant office time is required — you will manage your own schedule and work where you are most effective. • Extended healthcare and maternity leave benefits from Day 1 — no waiting period.
• One of the fastest-growing accounting firms in Canada, with big ambitions and an anti-firm culture — think tech startup, but accounting. We are actively moving away from traditional top-down hierarchy toward a more autonomous, ownership-driven model of organizational governance.
• A role with real senior ownership and visibility from day one — you will step into engagements that matter and have direct impact on client outcomes.
• We are tired of the 70-hour busy seasons of public practice — and we staff our files effectively so you don’t have to be either. Overtime is a rarity, not a rite of passage.
