The company has rapidly expanded its global operations, through strategic partnerships with popular gaming platforms such as Facebook, iOS, Amazon, Google Play, Kongregate, and many others. Position: Senior Game Economy Designer (mobile game)
Report to: Team Lead 
Department:  ZQ Game

Location: 5 East 8th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5T 1R6 (fully on-site)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Game Economy Systems: Develop and maintain the game's economic framework, ensuring a balanced and engaging player experience.​
  • Develop Mathematical Models: Create mathematical models to simulate and predict player behaviors and economic outcomes.
  • Documentation: Produce comprehensive documentation of economic systems and design processes for technical teams.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with game designers, developers, and artists to integrate economic systems seamlessly into the overall game design.​
  • Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest trends in game economies and monetization strategies to inform design decisions.
  • Monitor In-Game Economy: Regularly track and report on the performance of in-game economic features, identifying areas for improvement.​
  • Analyze and Optimize Economic Models: Conduct data-driven analysis to assess the effectiveness of economic systems, making adjustments to enhance player engagement and monetization.​
  • Other tasks assigned by the team.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in game design, with a focus on economic systems; experience in leading successful projects is preferred.​
  • Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in data analysis and economic modeling, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies. Strong understanding of game economies and player behavior analytics.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel for complex data modeling; familiarity with VBA or MATLAB is a plus.​
  • SLG Experience: Experience with Strategy and Simulation Games (SLG) is preferred and understanding of balancing mechanics.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for Gaming: Deep understanding of current gaming trends, player behaviors, and monetization strategies.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada without any sponsorship from the employer.
