A bit about the role…
The access team at Solink is focused on expanding the integration of access control systems with Solink’s current Alarm product and CloudVMS capabilities to enhance the physical security Solink brings its customers, as well as provide a truly seamless and pleasant experience in access control. 

As a Senior FullStack Developer at Solink, you will spend your days improving security AND user experience of physical security through deeper integration with other internal and third party systems, leveraging Solink’s Sidekick AI platform, and close collaboration with a world class team of engineers, designers, and architects.  You’ll work on many different components in the Solink stack while directly contributing to the growth and success of the company.

WHO YOU ARE: 

• You have a solid understanding of software development, supported by a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology field.

• You have 5+ years of experience in software development.

• You have experience working in a collaborative team environment.

• You have hands-on experience in a cloud-native product in AWS, including using Lambda, EC2, AWS CLI, and the management console.

• You have proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.

• You have experience with serverless infrastructure.

• You have experience integrating back-end services with 3rd party via REST, MQTT, and other common API technologies

• You are comfortable working with Jira for task management and following an agile workflow.

• You can take ownership of tasks, working through them independently while collaborating with team members and managers as needed.

• You participate in periodic design meetings to plan and break down future tasks effectively.

Bonus If…

• You have experience with VPC, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, SQS, and Kinesis.

• You have experience with React and front-end development.

• You have experience in DevOps, Orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, Serverless Framework, Kubernetes).

• You have experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (ideally Elasticsearch or DynamoDB).

• You have knowledge of information security and cybersecurity best practices.

• You have proficiency in multiple programming languages.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;

• Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;

• Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Build and maintain back-end infrastructure to support highly available and deeply integrated back-end services.

• Build and extend product business logic to support all of Solink’s products growing to be AI-native (how do we say this)

• Work on multiple components of the product, including AWS infrastructure, in collaboration with architects and R&D teams.

• Use Jira for task management, taking ownership of tasks and collaborating with team members as needed.

• Participate in periodic design meetings to discuss and plan future work.

• Assist product management and customer support teams by providing explanations and resolutions to reported issues.

• Research and develop new technologies to enhance existing software applications.

• Take on other tasks as required to support the team's goals.
