Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Senior Director, Global Sports & Partnership Marketing, you will define and lead the long-term vision, strategy, and execution of Arc'teryx's Global Sports Marketing program — including the Global Athlete Team, Partnerships, Academies, and Community programs. You will shape how the brand engages with athletes, guides, search and rescue, ambassadors, and outdoor communities worldwide, creating meaningful impact across Climb, Snow, and Trail.

Arc'teryx was founded by climbers in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia. We're inspired to solve problems for mountain athletes who push the edges of what's possible. This role is a critical culture carrier in the organization, as integral to the brand's heritage and founding mentality as it is to driving future brand growth.

A strategic and action-oriented leader, you will work collaboratively across the enterprise and serve as an influential ambassador of Arc'teryx externally. You'll partner closely with Regional Marketing leaders, mountain and athlete community leaders, the Global Brand Team, and cross-functional stakeholders — ensuring global strategy is effectively localized, resourced, and executed at the market level. You will define strategic direction and operating models for our Community Team and Global Arc'teryx Academies, enabling consistent, scalable delivery of high-impact local programs worldwide, while building a world-class Sports Marketing organization.

This role is ideally based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Sports Marketing team is the direct link between Arc’teryx and our global community of athletes, partners, and guests. We work in close collaboration with Brand, Product, Creative, Communications, and local Community teams, as well as with external partners and agencies, to create authentic experiences and stories that inspire and engage. We believe that the mountains make us better, and that better people make better athletes.

If you were in the Senior Director, Global Sports & Partnership Marketing role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Setting the global vision and enterprise strategy for Athlete Marketing, Partnerships, Academies, and Community — including playbooks and operating models — integrated into brand architecture, demand creation, and Go-to-Market across all regions and categories
  • Building and leading a world-class Sports Marketing organization — standards, capabilities, operating models, leadership development, succession planning, and org design to scale enterprise impact
  • Establishing a cohesive global athlete strategy — identification, recruitment, development, services, and lifecycle management across climb, snow, and trail — partnering with Activity Leads and Athlete Team Captains
  • Owning the global sports marketing investment strategy and performance framework, ensuring investments and partnerships deliver measurable brand equity growth, cultural relevance, community impact, and commercial impact
  • Partnering with regional teams and the Global Brand Team to establish governance frameworks and shared standards that balance enterprise consistency with local relevance
  • Shaping and executing the global partnerships vision, forging transformative, high-impact alliances with premier organizations, federations, guides, search and rescue, ambassadors, and marquee events to elevate brand authority and cultural leadership
  • Continuing to evolve and scale Arc'teryx-owned global events and brand moments as a signature platform for brand visibility and cultural relevance
  • Partnering with executive leadership across Product, Brand, and Commercial functions and regional teams to embed athletes and partnerships, academies, and community initiatives into innovation pipelines, storytelling, and integrated global campaigns, and leading the content strategy that ensures our most credible stories are captured, shared, and amplified
  • Partnering with Product and Advanced Concept teams to ensure athlete insight and field feedback directly informs product creation, creating a feedback loop between the athlete team and the innovation pipeline
  • Using your voice as a brand and thought leader externally, representing the company in global industry forums, key events, and strategic partner engagements to enhance brand stature and influence
  • Cultivating deep connections with core communities and cultural leaders, ensuring authenticity while translating grassroots insights into enterprise-level strategic advantages
  • Driving executive-level alignment and decision-making, leading high-impact forums, strategic planning processes, and board-level communications related to Sports Marketing performance and future direction
  • Keeping heart at the centre of how we show up in these important spaces, protecting our brand's heritage and DNA

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Strengthening our athlete, partnership, and community ecosystem by embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion as a principle—expanding representation across emerging regions, disciplines, and communities to reflect the future of the outdoor landscape
  • Exploring new ways of storytelling, participation, and engagement—including digital, immersive, experiential, and community-led platforms to deepen consumer connection and extend the impact of athletes, partnerships, academies, and community programs beyond traditional marketing channels
  • Strengthening Arc’teryx's position at the forefront of cultural and environmental leadership by activating athletes, partners, academies, and community initiatives to influence the future of outdoor sport, sustainability, inclusion, and access

Are you our next Senior Director, Global Sports & Partnership Marketing?

  • You have 12+ years of progressive experience building and scaling athlete team, partnership, and community strategies for a global outdoor sports, apparel, or footwear brand — with deep connection to the outdoor sports industry and culture, and a strong understanding of athlete performance across climb, snow, and trail
  • You have built and scaled a sports marketing/partnership program at a comparable brand, with demonstrated, measurable results in brand visibility and equity, including securing and managing both media partnerships and event partnerships
  • You have led content strategy for sports marketing or partnership programs, translating athlete, community, and partnership stories and visuals into brand storytelling
  • You bring an entrepreneurial mindset and a track record of developing innovative sports marketing and community teams that drive brand relevance, engagement, and long-term growth
  • You have demonstrated success building, leading, and coaching high-performing teams across complex, matrixed global organizations, and are an inspiring communicator capable of aligning diverse stakeholders through influence, credibility, and trust
  • You possess strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to build and sustain influential relationships with athletes, partners, and stakeholders
  • You are skilled at leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making, balancing analytical rigor with sound judgment and instinct
  • You are a strong operator and steward of investment, with experience managing budgets, business planning, and operating models that translate vision into scalable execution
  • You bring a global perspective, balancing enterprise consistency with local relevance
  • You are passionate about the outdoors, embodying the Arc'teryx ethos both professionally and personally
