As a Senior Director, Fund Accounting at Hiive, you will own the accounting and reporting processes for Hiive's fund-related activity as our regulated secondary marketplace scales. You'll mature the fund accounting infrastructure and controls that keep pace with growing transaction volume, and you'll be the go-to person for fund-level financial accuracy and compliance. This role will report directly to the CFO.

In this role, your responsibilities would include:

  • Own the post-close accounting records for fund-related accounting, including reconciliations, NAVs, PCAPs, and financial statement preparation

  • Evolve and maintain controls and documentation for fund-level ledgers, NAV calculations, and capital call/distribution accounting for a quarterly reporting cadence

  • Lead the annual audit processes, working directly with auditors and external partners on fund-related audits and regulatory reporting

  • Lead the preparation and distribution of K-1’s annually to investors

  • Own the Hiive Fund valuation process to ensure that fund valuations are auditable and accurate

  • Work cross-functionally with fund services, legal, sales & trading, corporate finance, and others across the organization

  • Lead the fund accounting team to ensure workload is evenly distributed and that the team is resourced appropriately

  • Identify and implement system or automation improvements that scale with transaction volume

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for fund accounting questions across Finance, Legal, and Compliance

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of fund accounting or fund administration experience

  • Experience preparing fund-level financial statements and coordinating audits

  • Experience preparing or reviewing K-1’s or other year-end tax documents

  • Strong understanding of NAV calculations, capital calls, and distributions

  • Experience operating in a regulated financial services or fintech environment

  • CPA designation or equivalent accounting credential

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with private company secondary markets or pre-IPO equity

  • Experience building or improving accounting systems and controls from the ground up

  • Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. regulatory reporting requirements

  • Experience working in a start-up, or a rapidly growing organization
