Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Senior Change Manager is a strategic individual contributor who leads change for complex, cross-functional initiatives across Nicola Wealth. This role provides the opportunity to design and deliver change management strategies from strategy through execution. Rolling up their sleeves, the Senior Change Manager will deliver key change work products (e.g., impact/readiness assessments, stakeholder and communication plans, training and reinforcement plans) while also coaching leaders, people managers, and project teams to build internal change capability. In parallel, the role will build and continuously improve Nicola Wealth’s change management framework, templates, and standards to enable consistent, scalable delivery across the portfolio.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end change strategy and delivery for high-impact initiatives, partnering with project/program leaders to integrate change activities into project plans and governance.
  • Lead and drive execution of core change deliverables, including change impact and readiness assessments, stakeholder analysis, engagement plans, communications plans and materials, training needs assessments, and sustainment/reinforcement plans.
  • Enables distributed ownership activating and coaching sponsors, senior leaders, and people managers, equipping them with clear narratives, talking points, expectations, and reinforcement routines that drive adoption and accountability.
  • Build and maintain a change measurement approach (adoption and proficiency metrics, feedback loops, stakeholder sentiment), and provide concise, actionable reporting to sponsors and leadership.
  • Apply a proportional, risk-based change approach (right-sizing activities based on impact, readiness, complexity, and adoption risk) to ensure rigor without unnecessary overhead.
  • Anticipate and manage resistance, change collisions, and adoption risks across concurrent initiatives; propose sequencing, mitigation, and reinforcement actions to reduce change fatigue and protect outcomes.
  • Design, build, and continuously improve Nicola Wealth’s change management framework, playbooks, and templates to enable consistent delivery across initiatives.
  • Coach and upskill project teams and internal partners on change management practices; contribute to building a community of practice and shared tools that increase organizational change maturity.
  • Partner closely with SMEs, internal communications, and training/learning resources to ensure change plans are practical, audience-appropriate, and delivered with high quality and timeliness.
  • Ensure learning and enablement are directly tied to change impacts and adoption outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and embedding them into standards, templates, and future change approaches.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in change management, internal communications, organizational effectiveness, and/or transformation delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering change management for complex initiatives (process, technology, operating model, or cross-functional transformation).
  • Change management certification (e.g., Prosci, CCMP) or equivalent practical experience applying structured methodologies.
  • Strong project partnering skills (working alongside project managers / delivery leads to integrate plans, risks, issues, and dependencies).
  • Advanced written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills; ability to tailor messages by audience level.
  • Proven ability to influence and manage stakeholder relationships in a matrix environment (including senior leaders).
  • Highly proficient with MS Office tools; SharePoint knowledge is an asset.

Compensation & Benefits Package:

This position comes with a base salary range of $110,000 - $130,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.

At Nicola Wealth, our people grow our business, delight our clients, and live our values every day. Our comprehensive compensation and benefits package reflects our appreciation for this commitment.
