What it's like to be a Northbridge Risk Analyst, Catastrophe Exposure Analysis

This position is accountable for analyzing insured property data on the company’s catastrophe risk to provide analytics to underwriters and senior management. It is responsible for the timely reporting of monthly analysis for the monitoring of major risk areas. It is responsible for analyzing and summarizing complex data and compiling reports on the results.

If you are great at: 

  • Reformatting property data from raw form for use in catastrophe modeling and exposure analysis.

  • Analyzing large databases of data to ensure data quality standards for accuracy and completeness are met.

  • Identifying and analyzing relevant data and defining critical issues and alternatives

  • Supporting bespoke peril pricing for Underwriting and Actuarial Pricing. 

If you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Statistics, Math, or other technical degree program.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Property & Casualty insurance field. 

  • Working knowledge of catastrophe modeling products and Geographical Information systems is an asset

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications

  • Completion of CCRA, CRM, CSCR, or similar Catastrophe Risk Accreditation is an asset. 

  • Completion of CIP, FCIP, or other insurance industry education is an asset.

Salary range- $60,000 - $70,000 for Vancouver, BC.

Actual pay may be below or above the range based on the candidates' knowledge, skills, and level of ability relative to expectations for the role applied to. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply.
