Research Analyst

About this position:

As a Research Analyst at Later, you'll be part of a strategic team that directly strengthens pitches, accelerates deals, and improves client retention for our Sales, Strategy, and Account Services teams through rapid, targeted research and insights. This is a strong intermediate role for someone with prior experience as a research or market analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment partnering with revenue teams. Please note we will only be considering applications from candidates located within our Vancouver hub. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in office.

What you'll be doing:

Strategy

  • Develop targeted research plans aligned to Sales, Strategy, and Account Services goals.
  • Deliver rapid, actionable insights from market intelligence, surveys, and data analysis to strengthen pitch narratives.
  • Identify and prioritize high-value pitches and Strategic Business Reviews (SBRs) to focus research where it drives the most revenue.
  • Partner on studies for Strategy and Sales that inform brands on tentpole and seasonal events and holidays.
  • Build clear, compelling materials for client pitches and SBRs.
  • Provide trending and competitive insights to support sales and SBR strategies where appropriate.

Execution

  • Own the delivery of proposal and pitch support on a timely basis, driving research quality that improves win rate and retention.
  • Champion education and evangelization of research across stakeholders and revenue teams.

Team & Collaboration

  • Manage stakeholder relationships independently, with excellent communication skills to understand research needs.
  • Identify and prioritize key research questions and objectives in partnership with multiple stakeholders, including marketing and sales.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to influence the timing for collecting and delivering insights.

Research & Best Practices

  • Conduct primarily quantitative and occasional qualitative research, selecting the appropriate methodology based on business needs and goals.
  • Analyze quantitative data sets from data partners and execute surveys to uncover insights that inform content marketing initiatives.
  • Translate research findings into clear, concise insights, turning complex information into effective storytelling through infographics, graphs, and other visuals.
  • Manage time efficiently while balancing priorities, ensuring projects are well run, timely, and planned with clear tasks and milestones.

What success looks like:

  • Within the first 30 days, you've ramped on Later's research tools, survey platforms, and stakeholder landscape across Sales, Strategy, and Account Services.
  • By 90 days, you're independently fielding research requests, delivering surveys and insights that hold up under revenue-team deadlines.
  • By 180 days, your research is a consistent input into pitch decks and SBRs, and stakeholders see you as a trusted differentiator against competitors.
  • Within 12 months, you've measurably contributed to improved win rates and client retention through the quality and speed of your research support.

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of relevant market research and analytics experience.
  • Experience designing, executing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative market research studies.
  • Demonstrated experience applying statistical concepts and other quantitative methods to ensure rigor and validity of research, including execution of large-scale surveys.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex research concepts to stakeholders across the company.
  • Experience working with survey platforms such as Typeform, SurveyMonkey, or Qualtrics.
  • Experience working with panel recruitment and respondent platforms such as Cint or Centiment.
  • Experience in R or Python is an asset, though analysis is primarily conducted via spreadsheets.
  • Comfort integrating AI practices into your daily workflow, with curiosity about how AI can accelerate the research practice.

Salary Range: $88,000 - $98,000 CAD
