We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time temporary Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Quality Assurance team in Langley, BC.

This temporary position is expected to last 12 months.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Distribution Quality, you will be responsible for ensuring that the inbound and outbound perishable products meet Pattison Food Group’s (PFG) quality standards within the supply chain. In this role, you will help integrate and maintain processes regarding produce quality to ensure compliance with all regulatory and PFG requirements.

This is a 24/7 facility. The shift times are Tuesday to Saturday from 6:00am to 2:00pm and may be adjusted according to business needs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Verifying that all inbound perishable products consistently meet our specifications for safety and quality by measurement of key metrics and adherence to sampling and testing programs.
  • Investigating and documenting all quality inspection findings with appropriate forms and systems on a daily and ongoing basis.
  • Continuously communicating with various Quality Assurance partners as well as Merchandising and Supply Chain teams.
  • Interacting with CFIA with respect to inspections, detentions and recovery programs.
  • Ensuring adherence and maintenance of our established Quality Assurance program.
  • Ensuring Pattison Food Group delivers produce of the highest safety and quality standards.

You have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Public Health or other relevant discipline.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in food safety, quality assurance, auditing, supply chain, compliance or other relevant experience.
  • HACCP certification is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • GFSI recognized scheme (i.e. SQF) training/certification is considered an asset.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis.
  • Experience in produce quality is considered an asset.
  • The flexibility to travel as needed between BC and AB.

  • An effective communicator, both written and verbal, with the flexibility to adapt to various audiences and stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced multi-temperature warehouse environment.
  • Able to work all shifts including weekends, evenings, early mornings and holidays in a 24/7 facility. Shifts are to change depending on business requirements.

Compensation Details:

$74,029.00 - $92,536.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience and other factors.
