As the Quality Assurance Engineer (Intermediate), you own quality assurance for your team throughout the software delivery process. Embedded within a cross-functional team, you collaborate with product and development from the early stages of requirements analysis and design, then ensure quality throughout the development and release lifecycle.

This role ensures the final product delivered is fit for production, meaning it is reliable, handles expected and unexpected scenarios, and meets the defined requirements.

  • Performs regression testing on new software releases
  • Clarifies and validates acceptance criteria for requirements with product and developers

Product Quality

  • Helps ensure the software delivered is high quality, fit for purpose, and addresses real user needs
  • Analyzes requirements and identifies gaps or inconsistencies before they reach development
  • Distinguishes between user requests and the underlying needs behind them
  • Evaluates information from multiple sources, clarifying and organizing key points
  • Breaks down high-level requirements into actionable detail

Teamwork

  • Works as a core member of a cross-functional team and collaborates with stakeholders throughout the software development process
  • Drives communication and coordination to help ensure software quality and smooth delivery
  • Collaborates with product managers, developers, and support staff to ensure software specifications are understood and implemented correctly
  • Partners with customer support to investigate reported issues and identify solutions
  • Works with QA colleagues and other teams to improve product quality
  • Helps enhance the testing process, including reducing reliance on manual regression testing through shared strategies and tools

Requirements

We want you to succeed, so you will need:

  • 2 to 4 years of professional experience in quality assurance or software testing
  • A solid foundation in testing principles and tools
  • The ability to work independently and own testing for a team's deliverables
  • Confident cross-functional collaboration
  • Active involvement in test planning and process improvement
  • Improving quality processes with AI tools to demonstrate increased throughput and efficiency
  • Test Case Design & Execution: able to write and execute detailed test cases based on requirements and user stories
  • Bug Reporting: skilled in identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using tools like Jira
  • Manual Testing: confident in performing functional, regression, exploratory, and smoke testing

Nice to have:

  • Testing Frameworks and Tools: working knowledge of manual testing tools and experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Jira, Selenium, Postman, Buildkite, Git), with the ability to execute and maintain existing test scripts and contribute to test automation efforts
  • Experience applying AI tools such as Claude Code, Gemini or Copilot

Salary range: $82,700 to $90,000 per year

We publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.
