Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Software QA Specialist to join our team to develop AutoCAD Map 3D. As part of our dynamic team, you'll use knowledge of end-user processes to plan, develop, execute, and maintain test strategies with the objective of early detection of defects that impact customers, in assigned features or products, bringing customer perspective into the software development process to ensure product goals are met, and ensuring our customers receive exceptional functionality and services. Your involvement in presenting and demonstrating these functionalities to partners will be crucial to our project's success. This role is hybrid in Vancouver, Canada.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with a global team in a collaborative environment to achieve team goals.

  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies for requirement gathering, test planning, execution, and progress reporting

  • Develop comprehensive software test plans, focusing on UI, functionality, performance, and workflow

  • Manually executes test design to find defects in features or products and prioritize defects 

  • Receive defect reports from other sources (customers, product support, newsgroups, Applications Engineers) and track specific issues for use by development

  • Writes test cases based on real production work and creates scripts for automation. 

  • Uphold high-quality standards for the products you work on

  • Support customers by addressing training issues and identifying defects

  • Partner with experienced engineers, absorbing best practices in software development

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Background in Software Engineering / Computer Science, Geographic Information System or relevant domains

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Software QA, Design Institute, or relevant industries

  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving problems (analyzing alternatives, risks and benefits)

  • Eagerness for new challenges and expanding knowledge

  • Experience with GIS software/ Experience in software testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in C++ or C#

  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development Processes and Product Development Life Cycle

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy

  • Keen interest in new technologies and their timely adoption 

  • Flexibility under changing conditions and ability to multi-task between projects

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $65,200 and $95,590. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
