Description:

Reporting to the National Engineering Manager, the Project Manager, Engineering will manage regional capital projects including planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and project closing; lead the regional implementation of national engineering standards, specifications and processes.

This is an on-site position based out of Vernon, BC. The contract is for a fixed term of 18-months, with the possibility of extension/conversion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital projects and improvements in accordance with the organization’s Capital Project Cycle including planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and project closing
  • Lead project teams to achieve project deliverables
    Provide input to the development of annual strategic capital planning and associated budgets for assigned region
  • Support the new product development process as it relates to engineering
  • Lead the regional implementation of national engineering standards and specifications
  • Ensure that regional engineering practices comply with regulatory and legislative standards
  • Improve existing or create new processes by analyzing man / machine / material / environmental issues and making appropriate improvements / changes
  • Collaborate with Finance to maintain an accurate Fixed Asset Register and ensure process compliance; provide recommendations to revise related policies, as required
  • Support the manufacturing facility to identify equipment obsolescence or end-of-life issues and create plans to mitigate risks
  • Support manufacturing facilities in optimizing quality, safety, and operational efficiencies
  • Support the deployment and management of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Create an annual personal development plan to upgrade your skills and improve your ability to deliver value to the organization
  • Maintain adherence to quality and food safety program standards to ensure food safety, quality and legal requirements are being met
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in engineering or related technical field
  • Professional Engineer designation considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management preferably in the food and beverage industry
  • Brewery experience considered an asset
  • Effective communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office software including Microsoft Project; knowledge of CAD software required
  • Experience in piping and instrumentation diagram and blueprint reading
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze high volumes of complex data and create insights
  • Proficiency in all aspects of capital project management
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant Canadian regulatory standards and codes
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in the areas of food safety, HACCP and/or ISO standards of quality, quality assurance, financial management
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviours that support organizational values

Working Conditions

  • Perform work in manufacturing facilities approximately 50% of the time, and in an office environment approximately 50% of the time
  • Travel required approximately 10% of the time
  • Required to wear proper PPE to mitigate hazards present in production area

Le lieu de travail est Vernon en Colombie-Britannique. Il s’agit d’un contrat à durée déterminée de 18 mois, pouvant être prolongé ou converti.

Responsabilités

  • Gérer les projets d'investissement et d’amélioration conformément au cycle de projet d'investissement de l'organisation, notamment la planification, l'exécution, le suivi, le contrôle et la clôture des projets.
  • Encadrer les équipes de projet jusqu’à la livraison de projets.
    Contribuer à l'élaboration de la planification stratégique annuelle des immobilisations et des budgets associés pour la région assignée.
  • Soutenir le processus de développement de nouveaux produits en ce qui concerne l'ingénierie.
  • Diriger la mise en œuvre à l’échelle régionale des normes et spécifications nationales en matière d’ingénierie.
  • S'assurer que les pratiques d'ingénierie régionales sont conformes aux normes réglementaires et législatives.
  • Améliorer les processus existants ou en créer de nouveaux en analysant les problèmes liés aux personnes, aux machines, aux matériaux et à l'environnement, et en apportant les améliorations et les changements appropriés.
  • Collaborer avec le service des finances pour tenir un registre précis des immobilisations et assurer la conformité des processus ; formuler des recommandations pour réviser les politiques connexes, le cas échéant.
  • Soutenir l'usine de fabrication pour identifier les problèmes d'obsolescence ou de fin de vie des équipements et élaborer des plans pour atténuer les risques.
  • Aider les installations de fabrication à optimiser la qualité, la sécurité et l'efficacité opérationnelle.
  • Soutenir le déploiement et la gestion des initiatives d'amélioration continue.
  • Élaborer un plan annuel de développement personnel pour améliorer vos compétences et votre capacité à apporter de la valeur à l'organisation.
  • Maintenir le respect des normes du programme de qualité et de sécurité alimentaire afin de s'assurer que la sécurité alimentaire, la qualité et les exigences légales sont respectées.
  • Effectuer d'autres tâches connexes, selon les besoins.

Exigences

  • Études postsecondaires en ingénierie ou dans un autre domaine technique connexe.
  • Le titre professionnel d’ingénieur serait considéré un atout;
  • Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience en gestion de projet, de préférence dans l’industrie des aliments et des boissons;
  • Expérience en brasserie serait considérée un atout;
  • Aptitudes à communiquer efficacement, tant à l’écrit qu’à l’oral;
  • Compétences informatiques et capacité d'utiliser les logiciels Microsoft Office, y compris Microsoft Project ; connaissance des logiciels de CAO requise;
  • Expérience de la lecture de schémas et de plans de tuyauterie et d'instrumentation;
  • Capacité avérée à analyser de grandes quantités de données complexes et à en tirer des conclusions;
  • Compétence dans tous les aspects de la gestion de projets d'investissements;
  • Connaissance pratique démontrée des normes et codes réglementaires canadiens pertinents;
  • Connaissance pratique démontrée dans les domaines de la sécurité alimentaire, du HACCP et/ou des normes de qualité ISO, de l'assurance de la qualité et de la gestion financière;
  • Capacité à véhiculer des valeurs compatibles avec celles de l’entreprise.

Conditions de travail

  • Travailler dans un environnement manufacturier environ 50% du temps et dans un environnement de bureau environ 50% du temps.
  • Des déplacements sont requis environ 10% du temps.
  • Obligation de porter l’EPI approprié pour atténuer les risques présents dans la zone de production.
