About Durable:

Our mission at Durable is to make owning a business easier than having a job.

Durable builds AI that does the work for you. Our goal is to own the DIFY (Do It For You) small business category.

What is DIFY? It is a new category of technology that is faster and more cost effective than a human, and much easier to use than software. It is an AI first approach to solving customer problems.

You don't need to learn new software. You don't need to read help docs. You don't need to learn how to prompt. You provide business context and feedback, and the work is done for you.

We believe in a world where everyone is a business owner. Whether it's a full-time, part-time, or side hustle - we want to make it frictionless to start and operate a business. Since launching in late 2022, over 5 million websites have been built with our AI powered website builder. We are generating significant revenue, well-funded by Silicon Valley investors, and growing extremely fast.

Our vision is much bigger, and we're looking for incredible people to join our team and make an impact.

About the Role

As a Product Designer at Durable, you’ll work on defining and refining core user experiences that make our product feel approachable, empowering, and useful. You’ll help simplify complex tasks, explore new interaction patterns, and design intuitive workflows for business owners using AI.

You’ll collaborate closely with senior designers, product managers, and engineers — contributing to everything from early exploration to polished UI. You’ll bring thoughtful craft to your work, advocate for user needs, and help shape the future of AI tools for small businesses.

This is a great role for a product designer with the ambition to help define the future of AI product design.

What You'll Do:
  • Design impactful features — you’ll contribute to everything from AI-first experiences to core product workflows.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally — work closely with PMs, engineers, and senior designers to bring features from idea to launch.
  • Explore new interaction models — help design multimodal experiences that combine text, image, and voice to make AI feel natural and helpful.
  • Create polished, intuitive UIs — translate ideas into beautiful designs that feel fast, friendly, and intelligent.
  • Grow your skills — get mentorship from experienced designers and stretch into new areas like AI, design systems, or prototyping with code.
You Might Be a Fit If You:
  • Have 2–4 years of experience in product design, with a portfolio of real work on shipped products.
  • Have impeccable taste, craft, and attention to detail, but are also comfortable working iteratively and learning as you go.
  • Are curious about AI and excited to explore how it can empower users in creative ways.
  • Enjoy collaborating with others, you’re a team player who communicates clearly and openly.
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and like to figure things out through experimentation.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience designing with or around AI features, prompt systems, or automated workflows.
  • Interest in front-end code or working closely with engineers.
  • Startup or side-project experience.
Why Join Us?

At Durable, we’re committed to creating an environment where you can thrive. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Remote-friendly: We welcome candidates from across Canada. Most of our team works remotely, and we’re set up to support that.
  • Vancouver HQ: Based in Vancouver? Our Gastown HQ comes with jaw-dropping North Shore views. Many teammates come in on Mondays and Thursdays, but WFH is always an option when you need it.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health and dental coverage to support your well-being.
  • Home Office Stipend: Receive a stipend to create a comfortable and productive workspace.
  • Professional Development: We support your growth with opportunities like conferences, courses, and speaking engagements.
  • Team Events: Connect with your colleagues through retreats and team-building activities.
  • Equipment: Start strong with a company-provided laptop and the tools you need to succeed.

Location:

Remote. We welcome candidates from across Canada, and have a preference for PST timezone for overlap with the majority of our team.

Compensation:

Base salary range is $150,000-180,000 CAD, plus equity. This range is relevant to candidates located in Vancouver, Canada. Actual compensation will be based on a combination of factors including location, experience, and skill level.
