The Opportunity

The Private Client, New Business Account Manager, is responsible for generating new business within HUB’s Personal Lines division. This role focuses on prospecting, pipeline management, and the placement of personal lines insurance coverage for new clients, including those with higher-value assets. The Account Manager works within an established team structure, with access to internal resources, underwriters, and carrier partners to support new business activity. This is a sales-driven role requiring strong personal lines product knowledge, a proactive approach to outreach, and the ability to build referral relationships with centers of influence.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Prospect for new personal lines clients through outreach, networking, referrals, and leads generated through branch and internal partner channels.

  • Manage an active sales pipeline to support consistent new business production in line with individual targets.

  • Support the preparation and presentation of personal lines insurance solutions for prospective clients.

  • Build referral relationships with centers of influence including wealth advisors, real estate professionals, mortgage brokers, and notaries to generate qualified leads.

Account Management & Operational Support

  • Educate clients on personal lines coverage options and identify gaps aligned with their insurance needs.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, policy files, endorsements, and accounts receivable to support new business placement and policy execution.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, underwriters, and carriers to support coverage placement for new clients.

  • Maintain working knowledge of personal insurance market trends and carrier products relevant to the client base.

Client & Community Engagement

  • Represent HUB at community events, sponsorships, and networking activities to support new business development.

  • Support RFP presentations and prospect meetings as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 2 General Insurance license or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of personal lines insurance experience required.

  • Solid working knowledge of personal lines insurance products including home, auto, and umbrella programs. Exposure to higher-value or specialty risks required.

  • Demonstrated sales activity and pipeline management, with an ability to prospect and generate new business.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-facing presence.

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities while delivering consistent service quality.

  • Self-directed work style with the ability to function effectively within a team environment.

  • Completion of or progress toward industry designations (e.g., CAIB, CIP, CRM) considered an asset.

Salary Expectations –

The expected base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000, plus commission, and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
