Provides planned, reactive, and preventive maintenance for AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and other building mechanical systems. Diagnoses faults, completes repairs, supports installations, writes service reports, oversees contractors, and provides technical support for site equipment. The role includes participation in on-call and nightshift rotations, prioritizing maintenance work, and requires competence in building services, BMS, electrical systems, and mechanical servicing.
Mechanical Engineer (Permanent) AH
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide maintenance support, including installation, planned preventive, and reactive maintenance, for site services and equipment.
- Perform servicing and maintenance of AHUs, FCUs, and mechanical systems, including pump seals, bearings, and alignment.
- Participate in the on-call rota, nightshift pattern within the Maintenance Team during client occupations.
- Prioritise work to meet business needs effectively.
- Diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs.
- Oversee contractors on-site, ensuring tasks are performed to required standards.
- Provide specialist technical support related to building plant and equipment.
- Any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Engineering/Technical qualification (Apprenticeship or NVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline such as mechanical/plumbing/HVAC).
- Experience in building services & mechanical servicing/maintenance, inc. pump seals, bearings, & alignment.
- Ability to write reports and job sheets either manually or electronically.
- Competence in other areas of building services (BMS, Electrical).
- Hold a full clean UK driving license.
