Job Description:

Onni is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Equity Market Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in evaluating publicly/privately traded companies, with a strong focus on the mining sector. This position requires at least 5 years of proven experience in equity research, investment analysis, or a related field.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and valuations of equities, particularly within the resource and mining industries.
  • Build and maintain financial models, including DCF, comparables, and scenario analysis.
  • Monitor and interpret relevant macroeconomic, industry, and company-specific developments that impact investment opportunities.
  • Generate investment ideas supported by thorough research, and communicate these to the broader investment team through written reports and presentations.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), commodity price trends, and regulatory changes affecting mining and related companies.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and other analysts to develop sector-specific strategies and identify potential investment risks.

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an equity research analyst, buy-side/sell-side analyst, or a similar role in investment banking or asset management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline (Master’s or CFA preferred).
  • Deep sector knowledge of commodities, mining operations, and resource-based economies is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated track record of actionable investment insights and analytical rigor.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience analyzing or working within the mining or natural resources sector.
  • Solid understanding of global financial markets, with a strong grasp of equity valuation techniques.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analytical tools (Excel, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, etc.).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • CFA designation or progress toward it is an asset.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $250,000
