You are 

  • Highly organized with a passion for numbers 
  • Fascinated by taxation and have a strong desire to learn more about tax and real estate 
  • Motivated, work well in collaborative team environments  
  • Detail oriented, tech-savvy and a fast learner

  • Excited to be part of, and contribute to, continuously improving the tax function.  

 

You will 

  • Prepare, maintain, update, and manage tax working papers for multiple entities, including preparation of continuity and reconciliation schedules 
  • Research and resolve discrepancies between tax balances and accounting balances 
  • Prepare corporate and partnership tax returns, elections, forms and regulatory filings 
  • Prepare responses to inquiries and requests of tax authorities 
  • Be responsible for preparation of tax provision working paper and tax estimate calculations 
  • Assist in performing and documenting tax planning, research and analysis  
  • Assist in corresponding with investors for tax related questions 
  • Assist in designing and implementing tax working papers and improving tax processes 
  • Assist with ad hoc tax or accounting projects 

 

You have

  • The experience to work well under pressure with tight deadlines

  • The initiative to continuously build your understanding the organization and the real estate industry 
  • Experience working with large corporate groups, as an external advisor or inhouse staff 

 

You also have 

  • A professional accounting designation 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a tax-related role 
  • Familiarity with Tax Prep (preferred), or similar tax software 
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills 
  • Strong written and verbal English skills 
  • Real estate tax experience (an asset) 
  • Public practice tax experience (an asset) 

Pay range: $125,000 - $150,000, per annum, depending on experience.

This is a 12-month contract with the opportunity to extend up to 16 months.
