As the Manager, Supply Planning, you play a key role in Arc’teryx’s Sourcing team by optimizing factory capacity utilization, overseeing vendor performance management, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the buy plan is delivered. You will support process improvement within Supply Planning and beyond, improving the efficiency of the planning process with factories as well as with cross-functional departments, including Merchandise Planning & Allocations, Raw Materials Planning, Product Developments and Commercial teams.

 

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

 

Meet Your Future Team:

 

As the Manager, Supply Planning you will lead a team of high-level planners who are responsible for the development and on-time delivery of the supply plan to warehouse. Your team partners closely with local Production Management teams to identify and mitigate supply risks, manage production readiness, prioritize business requirements, and reconcile gaps in delivery.

  • Building, coaching and guiding a high performing team of contract factory planners who partner with Sourcing & Production Management teams to successfully deliver our product range from factory allocation to warehouse
  • Developing a team of problem solvers who translate buy plan requirements into optimized and executable production plans that effectively support service level objectives and reduce total supply chain costs
  • Managing the workload of the team to balance factory complexities, seasonal volume, individual strengths, and career development
  • Collaborating with the Sourcing team to develop and maintain multi-year capacity plans for all manufacturers and maintaining healthy capacity utilization rates
  • Collaborating closely with Merchandise Planning & Allocations teams to develop a procurement strategy for all global product categories, reconciling the supply chain constraints against the buy plan
  • Partnering with Merchandise Planning & Allocations to support inventory goals and objectives without comprising service levels, including Open to Buy tracking and other relevant inventory initiatives
  • Leading efforts to evolve and refine supply planning processes, implementing changes that drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Developing and standardizing role-specific processes and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency in supply planning activities
  • Implementing and managing change initiatives effectively, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new processes within the team
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of all factories and related processes to provide guidance and leadership to individual planners
  • Leading high performance against department KPIs, continuously evolving current metrics and developing new ones as the business requires
  • Continuously developing bench strength through development and maintenance of departmental SOPs, training documents and performance management.
  • Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
  • Working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually)
  • Adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy

  • Deconstructing and rethinking the supply planning processes in alignment with the vision of our vertical business
  • Diving deep into our internal and external workflows and working with several cross functional teams to inspire with shared goals for stronger partnerships
  • Working with Senior Manager, Supply Planning and the Sourcing department on other supply planning improvements and optimization initiatives as they arise
  • Working closely with Raw Materials and Merchandise Planning teams on strategies that leverage agility through our Sourcing streams
  • Working closely with external vendors to identify and develop flexible buying options that support our vertical business objectives

Are you our next Manager, Supply Planning?

  • You have 5+ years’ experience in Supply Planning or equivalent Supply Chain position, preferably in Apparel or outdoor industry, including 3+ years of leadership experience
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • You have certifications in American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, or a project management designation
  • You have strong SAP and Excel skills to manage data, generate insights, and enhance supply planning efficiency
  • You have proven people management skills and the ability to lead, train and mentor individuals
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills, and an ability to relate to all levels of stakeholders
  • You are comfortable with a high growth environment and address ambiguity with positivity
  • You have a strong attention to detail and are comfortable working with high volumes of data
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
