Agiloft, an AI-powered Contract Lifecycle Management Platform and Gartner Magic Quadrant leader, is looking for an experienced lawyer or legal professional with a background in commercial practice and hands-on experience implementing or leveraging artificial intelligence.
At Agiloft, we are driven to build products that deliver maximum value and return on investment for our customers. Our customers use AI to speed up the import of legacy contract data into their Agiloft instance, streamline third-party paper negotiations, and flag departures from their organization’s accepted contractual language.
We are looking for an individual with significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, along with practical experience applying artificial intelligence in a legal or contract-focused context, to support the evolution of Agiloft’s AI capabilities. This role will include developing a deep understanding of our customers’ AI use cases, contributing to the design and refinement of AI-driven workflows and agentic solutions, and conducting structured evaluation and validation to ensure high-quality, reliable outputs. Job Responsibilities
- Apply legal expertise and AI/Generative AI experience (Agentic AI experience is a plus) to propel execution of Agiloft’s AI product roadmap.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, MLOps, and Engineering teams to shape AI-driven solutions.
- Design and refine prompts and related inputs to enable extraction of complex concepts across a range of agreement types.
- Optimize AI performance across use cases through prompt/context engineering and iterative refinement.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of pretrained AI models for contract analysis and related use cases.
- Conduct structured evaluation and validation of AI outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Collect and curate high-quality document datasets for AI training and evaluation from public and internal sources.
- Ensure product features are designed with legal professionals and real-world use cases in mind.
- Partner with technical writers to create internal design documentation and external customer-facing materials.
- Translate legal expertise into clear, actionable requirements for cross-functional project teams.
- Participate in select customer/prospect interactions to inform and validate AI solutions
- Act as a subject matter expert on legal knowledge engineering across the company.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and best practices.

Required Qualifications
- 3+ years commercial legal experience (law firm, in-house, or legal service provider) or 2+ years of hands-on experience as a legal knowledge engineer or in a similar role.
- JD from an accredited law school is a plus; admission to and in good standing with the bar of at least one U.S. state or Canadian province/territory is an additional plus.
- Extensive experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Experience with prompt engineering, including designing, refining, and validating LLM prompts to produce high-quality, reliable outputs.
- Familiarity with agentic AI concepts or experience working with agentic workflows is a plus.
- Experience with contract management solutions and/or legal operations is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to cross-functional initiatives spanning legal, product, and technical teams.
- Proven experience in collaborating effectively with peers, including legal knowledge engineers or similar roles.
- Experience working with distributed, global teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and advancements.
- High degree of ownership, independence, and accountability.
- Ability to maintain substantial overlap with Eastern Time Zone working hours.
