Responsibilities
- Use instructional design best practices to create interactive learning that enhances learner engagement, skill development, and knowledge retention and application
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and prioritize key content and map core learnings
- Craft learning outcomes based on learner needs and project scope; design the hierarchy, sequence, and flow of core concepts to support accomplishment of learning objectives
- Design appropriate delivery methods (e.g., eLearns, videos, job aids, quick reference guides)
- Design adaptable delivery to allow for a range of educator styles and learner roles, scaffolding levels of knowledge, and alternative session lengths
- Use course-authoring best practices to produce high-quality resources (e.g., print materials, presentations, facilitator guides, videos, diagrams, infographics) that deliver on established goals
- Partner with Creative Services on the production of multi-media assets for learning deliverables when appropriate
- Provide support to facilitators and trainers where necessary by managing the chats, Q&A pods, sharing polls and other interactions to make sure the facilitators and trainers can focus on the delivery of the content and engagement with the audience
- Upload and update learning materials on Learning Management System (LMS) and create new Learning Plans as needed
- Use evaluation best practices to plan, implement, and assess evaluation of learning projects, programs and initiatives
- Measure the success of learning initiatives and projects by evaluating training effectiveness (e.g., learning outcome accomplishment) and learner experience (e.g., satisfaction)
Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience as an Instructional Designer developing various types of learning for different audiences using diverse modalities (onsite, eLearning, blended)
- Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or a related discipline (e.g., PIDP, B.Ed)
- Experience with education in a Retail and/or Spa environment, preferred
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledgeable in Adult learning principles and methods and creating learning that engages different adult learners’ need
- Advanced knowledge and skills in using Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint, and Office
- Experience in using eLearning authoring tool such as Articulate
- Experience in video creation and editing using tools such as Premier pro
- Experience in uploading and maintenance of content in an LMS (preferably Docebo)
- Experience in using AI for content creation is an asset
- Skin Care Product Knowledge and Esthetics is an asset
- Bilingualism is an asset (English plus French or Spanish)
