About The Role:
As Team Lead, Commission Accounting, you will be responsible for daily management of this high-profile team in our organization. Maintaining professional relationships with the operations managers and brokers located in the branch offices is critical to success in this position. You will also be responsible for reviewing and approving revenue transactions for the brokerage and advisory services operations generated by the Deal Tracking System.
You will provide analysis of broker contracts, commission splits. comments on new hire contracts and commission calculations, including investment in new brokers and return on investment.
In this role, you will…

Supervision and daily management of a team of accounting professionals.
-
Recording of revenue and commission expenses according to US GAAP.

Responsible for the on-boarding of new broker contracts and agreements, and analysis of new/existing broker loans and draws.

Analysis of broker contracts, commission splits. Provide input and comments on new hire contracts and commission calculations, including investment in new brokers and return on investment.

Review and post revenue and commission related daily and month end journal entries, as well as necessary accruals and recharges.

Enhance and maintain a risk-based control environment, ensuring that all key SOX controls are operational Document processes and assist with the implementation of additional controls to comply with SOX.

Prepare quarterly analysis and reporting packages to support the corporate functions. (FP&A and Tax Team)
What You Bring:
-
1-3+ years of Supervisory experience in Accounting profession.

Accounting Degree, pursuing CPA Designation or equivalent.

Microsoft Dynamics AX / 365 / Power BI system knowledge would be an asset.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Approximate Salary Range for Role: $66,203.00 to $85,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
