Clark Builders is hiring Skilled Labourers to work on a project in Kelowna, BC. This role will be responsible for preparing and cleaning up construction sites, moving materials and equipment, and performing demolition, excavation and compaction activities.

Reporting to: Foreman or Superintendent

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.

  • Erect/install and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites.

  • Place and vibrate concrete.

  • Assist tradespersons such as carpenters and cement finishers in construction activities.

  • Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel.

  • Assist demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean, and pile salvaged materials.

  • Operate jack hammers and tampers as directed.

  • Pump water.

  • Maintaining a clean construction site.

  • Maintain organization of storage containers.

  • Additional duties as required.

  • Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner.

  • Adhere to Clark Builders’ policies and procedures.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • The physical ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs., as well as performing repetitive motions, bending, crouching and/or kneeling for long periods throughout the day.

  • The ability to work long hours while completing repetitive tasks.

  • The capability to work outside in various weather conditions depending on the season.

  • The ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in commercial/industrial construction is considered an asset.

  • Valid First Aid certificate an asset.

  • Valid ESC Fall Protection, SiteReadyBC and WHMIS 2015 is an asset.

Comments:

Wage Range: $25 - $30 per hour.

Please note that only local candidates will be considered.

Environmental aspects (weather, heights, etc.) play an important role for this position since work is often outdoors.
