About the position:
Our geochemistry laboratory offers a variety of departments for you to explore, including Spec Assay, Weighing & Digestion, ICP-MS, and more. We’re conveniently located near the Phibbs Exchange bus terminal, and we also have plenty of on-site parking.
Responsibilities could range from:
Perform sample preparation – filtration, screening, extraction and digestion;
Perform instrument/equipment calibration, maintenance and repair as required;
Prepare all required reagents, standards, reference materials, etc;
Carry out all required data processing (i.e. calculations, data review, data entry, archival, etc.);
General laboratory clean-up and maintenance, monitor controlled equipment;
Adhere to established methods and protocols to ensure analytical quality.
Observe safety regulations and comply with all relevant health and safety policies.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
About you:
Strong analytical and mechanical skills;
Excellent hand eye coordination;
Detail oriented individual with a strong commitment to quality;
Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time critical issues;
Intermediate English communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
Required Qualifications
Diploma in Chemical Science or Technology or a related field preferred;
Completion of some post-secondary courses in Chemistry or a related field required;
Minimum of 2 years laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or related field required.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 20lbs;
Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 7.5 hours per day;
Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.
Our Benefits Include:
An estimated hourly pay of $20.26 - 22.77 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
