About the position:
Our geochemistry laboratory offers a variety of departments for you to explore, including Spec Assay, Weighing & Digestion, ICP-MS, and more. We’re conveniently located near the Phibbs Exchange bus terminal, and we also have plenty of on-site parking.

Responsibilities could range from:

  • Perform sample preparation – filtration, screening, extraction and digestion;

  • Perform instrument/equipment calibration, maintenance and repair as required;

  • Prepare all required reagents, standards, reference materials, etc;

  • Carry out all required data processing (i.e. calculations, data review, data entry, archival, etc.);

  • General laboratory clean-up and maintenance, monitor controlled equipment;

  • Adhere to established methods and protocols to ensure analytical quality.

  • Observe safety regulations and comply with all relevant health and safety policies.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

About you:

  • Strong analytical and mechanical skills;

  • Excellent hand eye coordination;

  • Detail oriented individual with a strong commitment to quality;

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team;

  • Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time critical issues;

  • Intermediate English communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;

  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook;

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Chemical Science or Technology or a related field preferred;

  • Completion of some post-secondary courses in Chemistry or a related field required;

  • Minimum of 2 years laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or related field required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs;

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 7.5 hours per day;

  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.

  • An estimated hourly pay of $20.26 - 22.77 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
